Quentin Tarantinos Movie Thread - “THE MOVIE CRITIC” cancelled

That was a nice Larry Fishburne/Pulp Fiction/Jules/Samuel L/Die Hard with A Vengance story.

I can totally see Fish as Jules and Zeus. Especially Zeus.

It never struck me before how Larry and Sam are in similar lanes acting wise. I can see Sam being a bit more reserved as Morpheus.

This came in today.
Double LP of the soundtrack. Which came with a ton of other stuff. While I was definitely looking to add to my vinyl collection I was more interested in the posters(which I also am a collector of) comes with 5 posters
1 jumbo of the the theatrical one sheet and 4 for the film's Rick Dalton starred in.
It also came with more decorative vinyl sleeves and a "map to the stars" poster.
DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors all time and after searching high and low for prints for catch me if you can or the aviator(2 of my favorite performances by him) nothing really jumped out to me, so I thought it'd be dope to get Rick Dalton posters, frame them all together and throw em up.

Excuse the lighting, the home office is occupied by the wife who is on some phone conference when they arrived, that's usually where I take the pics. For me I like to open the prints just once to photograph and admire them and then seal them until it's time to frame them.

I’m not gonna sit up here and act like it’s up there with Quentin best work bc it isn’t. But i did enjoy first time watching in the theatre. Leo has some special parts as did brad.

Rewatching Jackie Brown and I realized it's a heist movie. Hell, it's a double heist movie since she manages to put 2 sides against eachother to 1) not face any jail time and 2) get away w Ordell's money. Definitely top 3 Tarantino film and really makes OUATIH seem like a boring, plotless film.

Yea I don’t see the 2 films the same at all

I think Hollywood was a story of Hollywood and aspects of the industry (the actor being spoken to/of as the tough guy leading man.. and you had the legit tough guy as his stunt double lackey) vs the contrast of the excited new girl and then you have the revenge porn side of things.. and then the story of a guy knowing the end is coming and trying to stay relevant and/or adapt

I think of any movie of his films, the one where overlapping things have been done better in his other films, it’s hateful 8.. least to me.. I still enjoy the movie because I enjoy the characters but I can see where things were done better elsewhere

I think Jackie Brown is criminally underrated.
OUATIH I really loved too. QT said that he thought that was the most fitting film to be his last and that he wished it were number 10 and I agree. Just a fun ride across his favorite era of Hollywood. Ending had me in tears too

I saw this in theater. I liked it and got it on UHD. I liked it even better on my second viewing.
Some of the plot jumps are a bit overwhelming during the first watch, but are easier to digest when you know they're coming.

Great movie. Love the little sarcastic details about the period, like the rat flavored and raccoon flavored dog food:

And man, some of the bonus scenes that are on UHD are hilarious. Especially the one with Charles Manson. When I learned about the movie and what it was about, I thought that he would be a scary character in the movie, but Quentin really made him look like a loser that he was. Should've kept these scenes in the movie IMO.

Western show, you say?

If anyone can bring back Western TV shows it's Tarantino.
I feel like he actually captures the humor and almost slapstick nature that lots of westerns had
whereas a lot of remakes and modern westerns go all dark and brooding

I saw it in Dolby the first time, so I noticed the rat flavor. Not the racoon.

I might need to get the bonus version. Thanks.
