I recently transitioned from a Dell to a Mac and it was smooth sailing. I haven't ran into a heat problem yet dong normal everyday business.

This Macbook is the first laptop I own. But it gets real hot.. So hot that I cant even leave it on my lap for too long.

But to answer OP...

YESSS...Macs do get HOT...notice how Macs are not advertised as "LAPtops"...the heat is the reason why...

With that said, they don't overheat though because the fan system is pretty solid...

...
