Question for my motorcycle riders.

I'm looking to cop my first motorcycle soon. However I want a sport bike and the problem is that i'm 6'4" 220. I was told to get a v-twin bike or a sport cruiser however I have no idea what kind of bike that is. My brother is telling my to get bikes like tl1000r's which I know i'm not ready for. (i've never rode a bike before) i'm going to take the class soon, help me find a bike bros.
