R&B Thread About Nothing

Really really hoping that D’angelo drops some new music, I mean he’s doing a “verzuz”.........

What the hell was that versuz and friends? :lol

**** didnt start on time and seemed janky despite being held in the Apollo theater. Looked like they decorated a back room in the Apollo.

Old pics of food I found

I know there's a food thread but it would be an offense to post it there

Craig David's 1st album is such a classic and his 3rd album is really good also.....

Folks slept on "The Story Goes..."
The 3 track at the end of "Thief in the Night", "Take Em' Off" and "My Love Don't Stop"...man...

"Slicker Than Your Average" had good tracks too. Dammit they all have fire on them!

OMG The Story Goes...is such a tight album! It was not available in the US initially (I had to buy that CD as an import from the UK.....talk about a throwback! LOL), so there was no buzz for it except for in Europe. "My Love Don't Stop" has special meaning to me (like "You Know What" from the Born To Do It album).

Slicker Than Your Average was cool, but out of his first 3 albums I will rank that one #3. Craig for some reason tried to "Americanize" his sound and though I can listen to that album and not cringe ("Personal" is my jam), for me it does not top his 1st or 3rd album. When he came out with Trust Me, I had checked out, but came back around when he released Following My Intuition.

I imported it too!! After "Born to do It" I was locked in. That album is so good.

" You Don't Miss Your Water ('Til the Well Runs Dry)", "Hands Up in the Air", and "What Changed" are my songs off of "Slicker..." Oh and "Rise and Fall" with Sting. I definitely get what you were saying about Americanizing that one. It's crazy because he came with his own style off of the first one.

"Trust Me" had hits too. "Awkward" and "This is the Girl" were hits for real.

Both of his new ones were good IMO too.

"This Is The Girl" to me is more of a Kano song than a Craig David one and I like the acoustic version WAY better than the album one. When he released "Hot Stuff", I was like "meh", but when Craig released that song "6 of 1 Thing", that is when I checked out! He definitely got his mojo back when he moved back to the UK because the "Miami" version of him was not it for me.
