The dealers/hustlers for me. Because they were accessible, and their items were tangible. If i wanted to know the quality of a fire shoe i didn't need to hit any mall. My cousin and his friends had all the latest gear, and I would inspect and examine all that ish lol. For example, I remember hating foams when I seen penny rocking em and in the Slam mag. Then my cousin pulled up in a pair and they blew my mind. I'll never forget the way that royal popped in person and how dope those groove patterns were.

And before AI, I never aspired to dress like any of the ball players. My style influence came strictly from the dealers I saw or rappers.
