Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

The crazy thing is his club/radio joints were hard as ****. They weren’t corny or gimmick. Fire, Pump It Up, Drop Drop and Focus were all dope. Some just got played the **** out

Drop Drop and Focus gotta lot of play in my house. Pump It Up too.

Where do we rank Joe for post 2000’s artists?

I got him on the same level as Fab

Only way to play Joey Def Jam Vendetta :pimp:

That cheat code deal not a bad promo, they could have did him like Ciara and gave his album away when you purchased a chicken sammich.

Dope album tho, and son hated most of those radio singles. Especially that fire video. He used to block *****s on twitter for @‘n him with this gif

Joe sabotaged his own career, how are you going to be a commercial artist when you don't want to do radio songs?

He has more in common with Talib Kweli than he has Jay-Z.

You could put Joe,Fab and Jada in the same bracket. His work with slaughter house and the mood muziks put him there. He’s prolly the last of the 3 if you wanna rank it tho.

How? They received more individual success.

Joe shouldn't be mentioned with Fab or Jada.

Damn I just opened Tidal, didn’t even know Summer Jam was today lol, people seem to care less and less about that concert. Funny to see them streaming the show again tho.

I remember when DMX got at Jay for wearing sandals, chanclatas on the beach. Times have changed :smh:

You can't be carrying the strap, wearing that.

Forgot how hard this beat was

Her flow  Underrated female emcee.

Thanks

Festivals help kill Summer Jam. It's a Festival almost every weekend during the summer now somewhere and several in the New York area. Governors Ball was just last weekend.

and Sunday is a terrible day. :smh:

As someone who's been to a few NYC festivals & Summerjam.... it's two completely different experiences & crowds. Summerjam is still a wave in NYC.

Only reason it doesn't seem as big anymore is because there's several major shows where you can catch a lot of artist at once.

That's what I was saying
