Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

You ain't answer the question
How somebody gon singlehandedly hold down the West in the EARLY 2000s when his first album came out in 2005??

Game got people outside of Cali to want to start ******* with the Westcoast again. Snoop was washed at that point but stayed relevant because of his tenure in the game.
Game was the reason you heard of K. Dot, Jay Rock, Nipsey, and a ton of other west coast acts. He also helped west coast artists get record deals because of a few features he put them on.
Not even going to mention how his gang affiliation sparked some your favorite artists to put on a red rag and how you see a dominance of the red rag still in the game today. Game's antics may be cringe worthy but you can't deny that dude is a beast when he gets in the booth.

People playing themselves if they’re trying to claim Snoop was holding it down for the West with those post-Blue Carpet Treatment albums :lol his most notable song during that period was Sexual Seduction

Never really thought about it but at this point even with his missteps, I'd consider Lupe Fiasco a legend. 2 bonafide classic albums with a possible third and one of the greatest pure lyricist in the genres history. Even with the **** ups I feel comfortable calling him that

Lupe is one of my favorite rappers of all time but he ain’t a legend.

LMAO. Before Documentary dropped, Snoop had some commercial success with Paid the Cost and R&G but this wasn't the Snoop of old and certainly wasn't helping gain recognition to any other West Coast acts. I can't even take Snoop Dogg seriously anymore. I don't expect him to keep up the image that he had when he came into the game with Death Row but damn it's a sad sight to see.

He getting killed in the comments. Everyone talking about Lugz.
