It's definitely a personal thing for Joe with Joe working for years to be accepted by the mainstream and never really making it there as a rapper, where in contrast Jay Elec shunned the mainstream at every turn, and was elevated more and more.

It's clear as day it's a personal thing that is rooted in Joe's frustrations with his own career as a rapper.

He had the public checking for him. He had years of anticipation but this album with Hov was a safety net for him. He's already shown that he can go bar for bar with Hov, this album ain't prove that. We knew that a decade ago, that's why he had all this hype.

Because he relied on Hov collabs as a "debut". Like I said we already know he can rap with Hov. That wasn't the question about him. He still hasn't dropped a classic or great album to match all this hype that he built up.

Honestly it’s hella weak that Jay made ppl wait 10 years for an album only for it to be a Hov tape.

I can understand why people are disappointed.

If Andre said he was finally going to release a project.

But then it's not even an album with Big Boi, it's with Cee Lo. You're disappointed first it's not solo. Then you'd be disappointed if everything isn't a hip hop quotable.

But me, I didn't have high expectations or expectations at all. I didn't even expect it until two weeks ago. I'm getting a top 10 album for the year for me. That's all I hoped for.

I didn’t even think the **** was really dropping until I saw it on Apple Music

And then I was def surprised that it was essentially WTT2. Kept playing tracks and being like damn this ***** Jay on this one too

People mainly are OK with it because it is Jay Z on the other end of those songs, and he smoked his contributions to the album

Giving half effort on a debut album that took you 10 years to create is lazy, no matter how you slice it

Besides for Flux Capacitor, I enjoyed Flux Capacitor. And I don’t think Jay Electronica got smacked around on every song. Cpl of the songs I felt like he was saying more than Hov ‍♂
