Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

He's under Ja, because Ja was a bigger artist for those three/four years than Busta ever was.

Ja was going multi and headlining tours

Are we talking sales or legacy?

Sales he wins but I’m talking legacy and quality music.

busta is kinda like fat joe to me sales wise. He had major hit singles and featured on mega hits, but it just never translated to album sales. Honestly outside of the hits, I just don’t see people wanting to listen to a whole busta album.

Busta or 50.... ya’ll LOVE to discredit Ja

It's because of 50, people now have short memories

I think Ja has two albums above 4/5

and two others that went 2

That's four albums bigger than Busta's biggest album

Ja was in a whole different weight class than Busta at his peak.

I don't know of any facet of the game where Busta was under Ja Rule unless we talking pure commercial ****.

Most definitely has to be commercial stuff. Busta has obviously had a ton of singles, but off the top of my head I couldn’t say if he was as high on the charts as Ja Rule’s singles were

Yeah this need to happen for real. Both of their music aged great.

Still don't get why Busta was on that diss record. Although I liked his verse

I think Ja said something about him in a magazine. Ja brought Dre into it too. Son really thought he was 96 Pac at that time.

Oh yeah here it is

"Bust singing the same ol hook"

Ja diss was good but he was tryna take on a army of _'s and he ain't that skill level to do that.
