Yup. I don’t appreciate his pretentiousness. He’s too mature for mumble rap, but then he’s too snobbish to play boom bap (or whatever), and won’t break an artist even if they’re good until they’re “recognized”.
good music is good music, no matter what the genre is. I loved when KD pulled up on him about Freddie Gibbs, because he’s a perfect example of making genre less music. Shadow of a Doubt has trap bangers while Bandana/Piñata have a sample heavy “traditional” vibe to them. It shouldn’t be exclusive Ranks or listens because it’s all an extension of the same person.
