The rise in hip hop-related violence has rapidly increased over the years, to the point that DJs have been coming forward to say they won’t play any gang-related diss tracks. Now, Wu-Tang visionary RZA has chimed in with his thoughts on violence being pushed in the music world.

While speaking to Financial Times, the producer said, “Growing up in the golden age of Hip Hop, we lost maybe like a couple of artists but not a dozen artists or more.” His statement was references artists like 2 Pac and Notorious B.I.G.

RZA continued saying, “Sometimes Hip Hop music glamorizes certain things. It glamorizes prison life, it glamorizes gangsters and thugs. I understand that, because I grew out of that.” The producer then spoke on the lack of balance currently in music, saying, “But it doesn’t give you the total tragedy of what that can end up being, nor are we being represented with a lot of alternatives. The point being made is there was more bounce, there was more substance. Hip Hop has become one-sided.” These comments come months after the tragic loss of rising star Young Dolph.

Went to the NBA leather tour yesterday
  • Seeing Alchemist live was quite the experience. One of the most energetic DJs I've ever watched in person
  • Its a small sample size but Bo Jackson may be Boldy James most beloved project by fans, got the loudest pop from the fans when he played those songs
  • Don't know how I forgot but Earl Sweatshirt has a really strong following. He also enjoys insulting fans who do weird ****
  • I guess Action is back cool with Vice and Alchemist has been casted in a romantic comedy
Everything was dope aside from Earls DJ

He in Miami helping his “friend”. That’s a wild statement considering the **** he said about that man wife.
