Cases get settled all the time because most famous people don’t want bad press. The quicker you put the headline away the better. It’s not any deeper than that
People are morons. If you read the comments in that post...90% of them didn't read the settlement part...and didn't know it was a civil case and not a criminal case

Over the past year. I realize a lot of people have low moral character and standards of decency, especially concerning women and even children

Seems quite obvious that popped up cuz dude was talking bad about Lizzo and if it was always a civil case with nothing criminal ever attached that kinda lends more credence to that IMO
