Heroin, marijuana and a pistol were found inside rapper Nelly's tour bus at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint, officials said.

The border-town checkpoint that has recently been in the national spotlight came across another celebrity sighting Wednesday evening.

Rapper Nelly, aka Cornell Iral Haynes, was in his tour bus when it stopped at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint around 8 p.m. to declare U.S. citizenship.

During the stop, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection dog alerted officers, said Hudspeth County Sheriff's Office spokesman Rusty Fleming.

Fleming said the inspection revealed nine sealed bags of marijuana, 36 small baggies of heroine and a loaded .45-caliber pistol.

Nelly, Brian Keith Jones and five other people who have not been identified were detained and read their Miranda warning rights.

Fleming said Jones confessed to authorities that the paraphernalia and weapon belonged to him.

Total weight of the marijuana seized was 10.4 pounds, and 0.64 ounces of heroin was seized, Flemming said.

Jones was placed under arrest. Nelly and the other passengers were let go, said Fleming.

A bond hearing is expected either Thursday or Friday for Jones.

He is being held at the Hudspeth County Jail.

In September, singer/songwriter Fiona Apple was stopped for being in possession of a small amount of ha*****, authorities said.

Willie Nelson, Chace Crawford, Armie Hammer and Snoop Dogg have also been stooped at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint.

Why is Nelly on tour? Who wants to see him overseas? These are the startling questions I asked when I read this title.

Heroin use makes me think he's gonna hit rock bottom soon if it is him using. Is he still with Ashanti? :nerd:
 
He got busted with 10 lbs of herb & 36 baggies of that H (along with the gun) on a tour bus & say he didn't know about it?:lol:. Texas is going to have a field day with this clown...
 
Why couldn't one of his boys been flipping that out on the road? Nelly stays with goons around him, y'all jumping to conclusions by assuming he is actually using
