Real talk, what's the point in living? vol. No, I'm not about to off myself

No point really. And I co-sign with that dude, that said no good answer will be enough because I think this is a personal matter. I guess all we have to do isenjoy life and the time we have, no matter how long or short, making something out of it. Lost my Pops in the summer, trust me, I feel you on " What'sthe point " question. Then I realized and remembered that great times we spent together and it automatically clears everything up, makes you feel good. Sofor me, I think I'll be happy living knowing I'm enjoying my life with the ones that I truly loved which is very limited and also leaving them with agreat memory even if it's just one. Also, my dad always told me that "he lives right and enjoys life making sure that when he leave us, it will bejust right" I never understood what he meant until he was gone!

Who in their right mind looks at life like "what's the point?"

Do you have any idea how fortunate you are compared to others around the world? You know how many dudes in other countries would give their left nut to be ableto sit up and waste time on the internet in the comfort of their own home/office/dorm?

You could be on the Gaza strip right now duckin' and runnin', you could be in Darfur watchin' your mother die just 'cause it's Monday andsomebody felt like it was her time, hell - you could be in Gitmo locked down and tortured - but you're not, you're on Niketalk asking about the meaningof life because you saw Benjamin Button. I mean, really?

You'll find that you'll probaly have less questions about life and worry less about loving people who will eventually die when you start being thankfulfor your life and the people in it.

I don't know you from a can of paint, but this thread comes of as super emo - to that I say this, just be thankful for what you have and the peopleyou're close to my man. All that "worryin' about death and the meaning of life and everyday it rains" - %%%@ that - instead of lookin' atit like that, look at it like "how many different ways am I blessed, and what do I have to be thankful for?"

It's not that serious. Everyone questions the point of existence at one point or another.


And with that said, I HATE it when other people say "oh, well you could be a lot worse off" Like no +%%@, captain obvious. I could also be in a hellof a better position

For me, I think it is to make life more enjoyable/satisfying for those around you. So in a couple short wors, my theory would be, To Help Humanity.
 
it's like asking why buy the latest video game system or tv or computer if it's gonna be obsolete in time. you need to enjoy it for the time you haveit

I get what you're saying. Although obvious sometimes I tell myself that all the time. Yes things can be alot better or worse but when I tellmyself that It's a way for me to really look back, look at things in a perspective and gives me a humbling mood.

I knew it was a never ending answer type of question, and that's partly why I asked it. It's nothing wrong with thinking deeper from time to timepeople.

To the guy who said something about being thankful for what I have since I could have it worse... take it easy. I'm very appreciative of all that I have.You're asking me to put myself into another person's shoes but what good does that do? It won't end the world's problems. The fact of thematter is that I'm not them, nor have I experienced some of the things they have. So why pretend? Thinking I understand and actuallyunderstanding are two different concepts my man. I'm grateful to have been born in a place where I'm free to think and do as I please, sodon't chastise me for challenging you guys to think. The effort you put into telling me why I shouldn't ask the question could have been spent oncoming up with a better answer... but I digress.

Back to the question. Living. Loving. Losing. What's the point of it all?

One of you said something about truly understanding life when I'm living for my family and God knows how much I'd love to live the simple life with mywife and children... but look at the guy who lost his wife and two kids when the jet flew into his house. God bless their souls, but they're gone andwhat's to come of this man until he passes? Is the purpose of living just to grieve in the end?
