Going to reno Sunday for a quick getaway.  Questions for any local folk/people who've been themselves.

I'll be staying at Silver Legacy, it was dirt cheap.
Where to play? (Loosest slots, best tables, drinks etc.)
Where to drink?

Where to eat?

Where to nightlife/shows to see?

Also is that bowling center all it's cracked up to be?

Thanks in advance!

I go to Reno to get hammered a few times a year. It's much cheaper than Vegas and I tend to win more money in Reno than Vegas for some reason.
-I normally play at Silver Legacy and avoid Harrah's... I always lose there.

-There's a nice bar in Silver Legacy (at the top of the elevator) that's a piano bar... give them a few bucks and they'll play any song that you want off the top of their head (my tip: Piano Man by Billy Joel it gets the whole place rocking)

-Get an awful burger at Golden nugget... there's sure to be plenty of drunk chicks there and they're open 24/7 I think... I've had two different women from going there and gaming

-Go to the strip club by the Marriott... fine chicks and they do extras

Have fun dude Reno is awesome for being the biggest little city

It's quite far away actually... Reno is on the northern/central part of Nevada and Vegas is closer to the south. About 6 or 7 hours apart... like San Francisco is to San Diego.
Think of it like this: Vegas is a chick who is a 10 who requires lots of wining. dining, jewelery and attention whereas Reno is a 6 who will let you put it anywhere.

^^^Thanks for the info my man, I am staying at Silver, so I suppose I'll be doing most playing there, also

I've heard the Atlantic has a great seafood place called bridge, which has a 2 person feast of 5 lobster claws, 6 jumbo prawn 5 oysters in the half shell, alaskan and king crab legs with wine and appetizer comes to less than 50 bucks!

Yes it does... it's quite a bit off the main drag but it's still very good and totally worth it... nice to bring your lady to! Also if you game there... there's a row of slots by the lion statue which pays out pretty decent dividends from what I've heard.

Also check out this place... it looks suspect but the food is A+++ with very delicious carne asada and nice Mexican beer to wash it down with.

For breakfast try this place: The huevos rancheros are off the hook...

It's right by the Legacy and it's great hangover food with a cool crowd... it's a great greasy spoon joint to get a good breakfast and start your day with.

Yeah dude timing is everything... it once took my gf 13 hours to get from SF to SD due to lousy timing, black ice on the Grapevine and LA traffic... not a good look!

Reno is truly a fun little town and I'm sure you're going to have a good time! Have fun!

EDIT: One last thing...

The Holiday Inn which is by the strip joint I mentioned has $1 blackjack tables... the casino is tiny  but it's a lot of fun to play there as the stakes are so low and you get free drinks very frequently! There you will get the most bang for your buck... then you can literally get banged for your bucks at the strip joint afterwards!

Damn I Heard of Vegas pros but never Reno lol

I haven't gone since Hot August nights in 2004. But I might go again soon with those tips.

Billy BloodBath,
fantastic advice there, GOOD ONE!
I am bringing my lady, so ill have to check out the Bridges restaurant.
Holiday inn info is CLUTCH dollar black jack will REALLY help since I don't want to gamble away more than 3 or 400 bucks, this doubles my playing/DRINKING time!
Is that rancheros pic from the taqueria or the breafast spot? Looks crucial, and I will most definitely need something like that to curb the assumed hangover i'll be having.

I got a bus ride from Chinatown(for 2), and a night at a hotel(for 2) for 70 dollars total. Awesome. Might have to start doing this more often!
