Rent/Lease question problem?

havent had time to really Google or look for any other information about this problem i figured i hit up nt for some ideas or feedback first. Basically myUnlce has lost his house and now the new buyer will become the owner within days. The new owner agrees to keep us as tenants but now he says he might not keepus and if does he wont give us a lease but have us on a month to month rent basis. Also if we decide to leave and cant leave by the 11th i think he will haveto pay him rent until we leave. Is this all legal? anything i can possibly do? Also what are the advantage or disadvantages of no lease?
