Ok, so S.O.Y. is a bit of a stretch but also can act as a worthy nominee, as a suitable acronym for "Shoe Of The Year" (or if you wanna get picky and exact "S.O.T.Y"
sick.gif
)

As the title says, which of these JB kicks will make it  to the Final and compete for NTs S.O.Y.? Only YOU can decide!

For those unfamiliar, NBA Feet (in the Nike Forum) has had this Playoff running for the past 2 weeks and some very outstanding participation and results have come through and I'm/we're looking to push this further.

As the designated Jordan Forum, it is quite possible that some in here may not be familiar with the Nike Forum and some of the popular threads that run there as you may normally be more concerned with getting your full fix of anything Jordan Brand. Well here's your chance to show love to the Brand which all others envy.

Below is a quote from the NBA Feet thread, please do chime in and/or participate....

The statistical results are as follows

WEST:

(1) Air Zoom Kobe V- 90.7% of voting to [8] Air Max Rise's-  9.3% (An expected washout despite whoever was the opponent in the 1st round)

(5) Hyperize- 71.2% to (4) Blue Chip II's- 28.8% (This was a very close match up which turned in favour of the Hyperize by mid week. Definitely not as "flimsy" as thought)

(3) KD II- 98.1% to (6) Huarache 2010's- 1.9% ( The H2K10's got 1 vote people...just 1!)

(2) Air Max Lebron 7- 90.6 % to Hypermax's- 9.4% (The King be rolling into a handful of trouble in the 2nd round)

EAST:

(1) Air Jordan 2010- 69.8% to [8] Jumpman Pro's-  30.2% (25 years and going strong)

(5) Melo M6- 70.4% to (4) AJ Icons- 29.6% (Much love being shown to an underappreciated signature line)

(3) AJ 16.5- 94.4% to (6) Ol' School 3's- 5.6% (The latest JB Fusion success has come through strong, now it's got a monster of a challenge against an "Ol' School" favourite)

(2) AJ 12 Retro- 86.8% to (7) CP3.III's 13.2%

With responses from Greece, The Phillipines, China, Poland, Turkey, Germany,  Hawaii, The UK, Canada and the USA (most from California) the survey has gone GLOBAL and shows the International diversity that flows through NT daily. Keep it up guys and on to round 2!

16.5 for me. Shoe was great and had great colorways. Nice price. Should of had a Knicks colorway.

^ I don't own a pair but do want one but these came correct from JB imo. Quite a good number of people share your sentiment and have complimented these...it's having a bit of a struggle at the moment against the glorified 12s in the bracket but definitely a successful and best fusion/hybrid release from JB this year..

The 11s (not any partcicular colourway) were one of my selections as an "Outside Looking In" pick...but similar to NBA teams that don't make the playoffs. Reason being, it didn't have a major showing in the League this year, therefore not many PE's etc. The only guys who broke out SJ's in patrticular were Stephen Jackson in the last week of the season and Johnny Flynn on All-Star Weekend for Media day but not on court. Other guys like Ricky Davis and Bobby Brown for the Clippers wore CDP 11s but not near the amount of exposure the kicks would've needed to get into this bracket. The Anniversary 11s came in a bit late also, so didn't really cover a large span of the season but is in consideration for the actual NBA Playoff Bracket which is being put together...

But I do get your point, probably out of popularity the Space Jams maybe could've gone all the way...But the quality critics maybe would've had something to say about that for sure...

My other JB Oustide Looking In Contenders:

-Hallowed Grounds
-11s
-13s (Worn by Bibby-blk/red, Rip Hamilton- flint grey and Nate Robinson- altitude's, but with all the release buzz for this holiday season; may play a bigger part in next year's bracket)
-Flight 45
-Alpha 1
-All Day

For Nike:
-AZK4 (not in as it was a shoe made for last year- And could've possibly won if this was in place last year)
-Zoom Flip'N
-Sharkley
-Skyposite
-Zoom Blur
-Cradle Rock Low

^Fair question for sure...No one else but the reasoning was, as a pair of kicks that had been there throughout and specifically made for the entire season as well and being a signature line from one of the more significant players from JB, I thought it necessary to include too. With its progression to the second round over the respectable Icons and commendable showing in this round as well, I think it has warranted the selection. But, maybe some of the selection criteria could be tweaked...but as a pilot, I think its done OK.

I was think this was gonna include all kicks that came out. Not just kix that players wore in the league. Even tho the only ones I own are the 12's I would pick the brons just cuz the dope cw's & its something new.

Well said, I couldnt agree more. I own 3 pair of  LBJ VIIs and love em.

Maulrat idk if u feel the same way as I do but those brons 7s are the best looking non retro Nike bball shoe thats dropped since the flightposite 1s. It's his best looking shoe to date imo cuz they look great on & off da court. I'm a retro nike & Jordan head but I am gonna cop me a pair of these soon. I love those white navy & gold joints & the heros pack that's never gonna drop but the best ones that had me like damnnnnnnn! are the white black turquoise & infrared. Only thing holding me back its that price tag there the only kix I like that I can't get a discount on.

Week number 2 is now history and we are now heading full steam ahead into the NT Kicks Playoff "Conference Final"...After another very hard fought week between the shoes in Round 2, the winners have come out heavily bruised after facing some very tight matchups. The updated bracket below:

The statistical results are as follows:

WEST:

(1) Air Zoom Kobe V- 80.7% of voting to (5) Hyperize's- 19.3%. (The Black Mamba winning the battle of the light-weights, leaving the controversial Hyperize in shambles)

(3) KD II- 43.9% of voting to (2) Air Max Lebron 7's- 56.1%. (Without a doubt the toughest battle of the week which ultimately came down to the last few hours of voting! After leading convincingly throughout the entire week, the KD II's lost ground between voting on Friday 30th April and Saturday May 1st. Could the Oklahoma City Thunder's series/season ending loss to the Lakers have had such a dramatic impact on the KD II's popularity? The correlation is up for debate. A great and very anticipated battle now awaits the Air Max Lebron 7)

EAST:

(1) Air Jordan 2010- 75.4% of the voting to (5) Melo M6's- 24.6%. (The 2010's can now peak through the window at the Final on the horizon! But has one more major test before it gets there...)

(3) Air Jordan 16.5- 21.1% of votes to (2) AJ 12 Retro's- 78.9%. (Not shaken by a "younger" opponent the Old School favourite now challenges the lastest monster of the most revered basketball signature line ever...)

The "Conference Final" will run alongside a new NBA Playoff Survey specifically created for shoes appearing in the post season from Sunday 2nd May to Sunday 9th May 2010. As usual, the links can be accessed through my signature and here:

Running alongside the NT Kicks Playoff Bracket the new Post Season edition is now up and will help decide the "Shoe of The Playoffs" from what we've seen so far. Bracket below:

With a slightly modified format and unranked shoe placement, this new bracket promises to yield some excitement from the opening Round in helping to decide what is the hottest shoe of the current NBA Post Season.

The votes will be counted with the same timeline as the previous bracket and is found within the same survey and accessible through the same link. To register your votes please access the links below and in my sig:

Oh no you put the XI's in there....those will probably win because of hype. I would go with the lebrons for post season if they were the regular VII, not a big fan of the PS. Hate to say it but my vote would be for the 2010 in both, they're growing on me pretty fast

^I'm surprised at the support the 2010s has been getting also actually. From the initial blasting of it (me included) to the level of votes in both brackets and even me wanting to see more PEs from NBA players (which has been disappointing this year- would've loved to see Ray and Gerald PEs) and me thinking of getting the all black pair in June....you're not alone dude (I think what pushed me over the edge was Tinker's interview).

The Final 4 battle is midway through the fight, and as seen last week a lot can change or much can remain the same. With a Finals clash gearing up between arguably the 2 best shoes that patrolled the NBA courts this year, your participation will help decide which will get to that final stage and duke it out to become "Shoe Of The Year"

- 1 Crowned "MVP x2" and the other leading the Lakers to go up 2-0 against the Jazz this week. Both of the league's last 2 MVPs also dangled some new colourways of their signature kicks on court, thus fuelling the fire in the "which is better" debate. As it stands right now, one has the upper-hand but how long will it last and which will come out of the West as the best....

-In the battle of the Jay's, can MJ, Dwyane Wade, Tinker Hatfield and Gentry Humphrey really declare that they've got a winner and a classic in the AJ 2010? Going against a commercial and fan favourite and defeating it will certainly get them closer to that notion. In certain respects the JB gang can be happy with the AJ 2010 but as far as the NT Kicks Bracket goes, we have a few days to make that final decision....

For those who have not been able to vote as yet, don't get left out this week in determining which of these 4 greats of 2009/10 get to move forward into the NT Kicks Playoff Finals...

As the NBA playoffs roll along we can all pick out a personal shoe favourite that has been displayed at some point so far.. The favourites are certainly becoming very apparent as the votes continue to come in to determine the best shoe of the playoffs....

- Gone but not forgotten, Kevin Durant's second signature kicks are making a strong statement in this first round...

-The window of opportunity is also wide open for the 2010's after taking a commanding lead over the opposing Zoom Brave III

-AJ 11 Retro or Hyperize, hmmmm....Valid debate or just a plain ol' simple rhetorical question?

-The Air Zoom Kobe V has definietly met its match in this battle, facing the toughest opponent it has seen yet in both brackets...The Retro 12 is proving to be no push over...

-The up and coming Hyperfuse is proving to be just as deadly as Rajon Rondo against the Cavs...Can the AJ One6 One7 rebound in the 2nd half of this week?

-A tiggghhhhtttt match up has developed with only a few votes difference between the Max Hyperize and AJ 2 Retro....Who comes out victorious in this round is anyone's guess...

-Another throwback favourite is ensuring that it will remain a fan favourite. The Penny 3 Retro is throwing everything at the AJ Team Flight at this point...

-MVP MVP MVP...nuff said!

Heading into the second half of this week, you can still decide who progresses to round 2 of the NT Post Season Kicks Playoff. Just a few more days to go before the next round opponents are chosen. So continue to get the links out there and help decide which shoe will be considered the best of the NBA Playoffs 2009/10.

*Queue the drumroll*........................The finalists for NT's inaugural Kicks Playoff are now here and the battle will resume to determine who will be the "Shoe Of The Year" for the recently concluded NBA regular season 2009/10. The updated bracket below:

The stats are as follows:

WEST:

(1) Air Zooom Kobe V- 76.9% of votes to (2) Air Max Lebron 7's- 23.1% of the voting. (The King of the NBA courts for this season was not able to transfer his unanimity as the MVP to the sales rack and public perception of his sneaker line. As we have seen even here on NT, the Lebron 7 thread has paled in comparison to the Air Zoom Kobe V, where the AZK thread has doubled the amount of pages and post replies of that of the AML 7 thread. YOU have decided that Air Zoom Kobe V was one of the best 2 shoes released this season!)

EAST:

(1) Air Jordan 2010- 25.6% of voting to (2) Air Jordan 12 Retro's- 74.4%. ( The popularity of the Air Jordan 12 has manifested itself in the results you the public have generated. From the extremely lovely PEs seen on court this year from Jordan Brand athletes to non-JB players wearing all the general releases, the AJ 12 had a very impressive retro run this season. Unfortunately for the 2010, the odds were against it from the start with much criticism leveled from since the initial pics surfaced to not having much of a presence apart from the Miami locker room and the All Star Game in Dallas. JB might have to rethink some of its signature line exposure next season with the AJ 2011, as arguably more PEs could've had a positive result, just as it had always been in years past!)

The battle of the best will get underway later today with the Finalist squaring off for the final week to determine the "Shoe Of The Year." The survey will run from today Sunday 9th May (Do make sure to do everything nice for your mothers today

) until Sunday 16th May. The links as usual will be accessed through this post and in my signature.
