Rogers Sportsnet dropped basketball for next year!!!

Mavs/Hornets & Suns/Spurs were on RapsTV last night.

Very disappointing news. Looks like Rogers wants to cash in on the league pass.

You can pick up the equipment here (I highly recommend the Sonicview SV-4000 receiver):

And you would need a dish antenna like this:

And to learn how you can get all the U.S. channels, you can go here:

If you have any more questions, let me know.

PS... For the record, I don't sell any of this stuff. I was just a frustrated Canadian who got fed up with Canadian TV, like the rest of you guys. I feelall your pain. But there is hope! FTA satellite!!!

^ You have this setup currently?

Another BIG

@ Canadian Sports Networks......Poker on one channel, Nascar on the other with big NBA Playoff Games on tonight. Guess I won't be seeingGame 6 of the Cavs/Wizards which was easily the best series of Round 1.

^^^ Yes. I've had it for over a year. Every sport, every game... LOVE it!

...not to mention all the movies and porn

I'm currently flipping back and forth between the Celtics/Hawks game, the Caveliers/Wizards game and the New York Yankees/Seatle Mariners game... gottalove it!!

The only good thing about Poker broadcasts on sportsnet are Jennifer Tilly's goods and even those are getting a bit old.

Almost all of the sports broadcasts on Canadian TV are weak, but out of all 3, the Score has got to take the cake. However, it gets frustrating when you wantto watch something, and the horse races are on. What's so fun about the races when you're not actually at the races?

On a side note: I'm going to miss Jack.

Jack Armstrong should be back next season probably on Raps TV and CBC.

As for the satellite dish, it looks interesting. Do you have to update the codes online every couple of days? Dumb question but I have to ask...did youcancel your cable subscription after getting the dish?

^^^ There was a period of maybe a month or 2 when it had to be updated every 2 days or so (or it seemed like that, anyway), but now it lasts for 2, 3, even 4weeks without any issues. Even when there is an issue and it is scrambled, there is usually a fix within a few hours. When the new file/fix is released, youjust go to a site that has the files, load the file onto a USB memory stick, plug the memory stick into the USB port on the satellite receiver, load the fileonto the receiver and you are back up and running. All of this is free, by the way.

It's not like the old dishes, when you had to reprogram a card, which could take days or weeks to fix. With this, there is no card.

Yes, I cancelled cable about a year ago. But mainly because I was out of work for a few months and didn't need the extra expense (especially with thedish). Plus, I currently live in Montreal and more than half of the channels here are French, so if you are English speaking (like me), you end up paying a lotof money for a bunch of channels you never watch. I'm planning on moving to Ontario within the next year and intend to subscribe to Rogers, basically justso I can get Howard Stern TV, which is not available in Quebec.

This is becoming a joke. The god-damn conference semi-finals are going on but TSN is showing That's Hockey (even though there aren't any games foranother 3 days) while Sportsnet is showing Connected (even though only baseball has been played tonight).

I wouldn't be surprised if Canadian broadcasters totally ignore the NBA finals for curling, poker and horse racing.

New Orleans is up 74-56 in the 3rd! Good game!

...not that I'm trying to rub it in your faces
