My new favorite cw of the FL3s! I should've copped when I saw them on RW, and I posted the sale info too... [emoji]128529[/emoji][emoji]128517[/emoji]

Finished my second half marathon today - broke my previous time by over 6 minutes.  Finished at 1.48.06; I was definitely shooting for sub-1.50, and had a stretch goal of sub-1.45.  I think it's reachable on a flatter course.  And I definitely need to learn to eat while I run.  I've tried those jelly beans in the past, and I want to puke as soon as I swallow them.  But I definitely felt the energy draining at Mile 9.  So, that's my training focus for October, haha.

Hope everyone having a good week. Haven't been running because I've been doing yoga, but for some reason my knee is acting up.

Do you wear a compression sleeve?
My knee/calf was feeling off this week. Bought a compression sleeve on amazon for $19 and my knee feels 100% now! :hat :smokin
Also took last week off because of it, felt rough coming back on monday. Great now though

Did my first double digit run, felt amazing while doing it. very time consuming though :lol

Took it nice and easy the first 8miles, then went faster for the final 2

Still training for my first 5k race
Did 4 miles today, first three went by easy. Last mile was rough dead legs and winded.

The Nike+ training program is working pretty great so far though, I never thought I'd be some one who could run/jog a full 5k.

Thanks to all who post. It keeps some of us motivated

Yea man I'm glad I decided on these as oppose to the hot lava one.

Seems like majority of people have the black cws the colorful fly knit toe box

ok so I just wanted say the following:

Love the FL3 pick, that's one of my favorite colors & almost got them until I came across FL2s for $60...but still want those too.
Big ups to everyone putting up higher mileage, I did my first run over 6.2 miles in a LONG TIME on Friday & it was rough(also had low energy going into it but still), it's not easy to get your body conditioned for that.
I want a NT running shirt or shorts. I'd be willing to pay for it if I can get an order in(looking at the NT Hat thread :rolleyes )

Maybe we can get a patch or something? I was thinking that might potentially be something to put on whatever, or maybe set up something where we earn patches to show what level we reach? I'm full of random ideas like that but I hardly get time to post & when I do I get caught up in one of the flyknit threads lol.

& question for you guys, how often do you check your resting heart rate? apparently mine is very low, Friday it was around 41-44 bpm & I guess that's borderline dangerously low(& what caused my low energy levels) so I'm curious about that.

Did a 2 mile trail run landing on the soft surface was great for my calf just a little discomfort at the start of the run.

I'm trying to get into running but the last couple of times both my knees will develops sharp pains the day after. Like not constant but if I stand in a certain position or bend down its hurts.

I'm running on concrete ...could that be the problem ? Or maybe different shoes. I have a desire to get out there but my knees won't allow it smh

CM: I've actually contacted HerbJuice (from IG fame) about producing NTrunning patches, but I'm still waiting on his reply...

I'm also considering putting an order in for NTrunning emblems that we could apply to our shoes. I think a team shoe would be AWESOME! Maybe an iD?

Regarding your HR, bradycardia (

Running patch is perfect.

If we can't get Herbjuice to make them I have a friend who has a printing press company; he can print almost anything. T-Shirts, patch, headband...
So we could do that if all else fails.

I bought the "correct" shoes and my knee problems went away. I did the Zoom Elite 8s.
Stretch out the knees and focus on correct form. I march in place for 1-2 minutes before I head out.

You're good bro.... Excellent heart rate for a runner.... I too found this out when health experts came to my job. They check my blood pressure and seen that as they release the pressure my heart wasn't pumping as fast to make the blood flow through my veins. The lady said her father run for 30 plus years and as a runner his heart rate was in the 40s. Mind is 44 bpm...

I was just reading a article on runnersworld on how some elite runners train for marathons. I never ran on asphalt like on a track. I've always ran on a hard road surface.... Great article though...

Quit smoking about 3 months ago so decided to give running a shot.

Did about a mile, with (a lot) walk breaks in between. :lol

Welcome to #NTrunning... First things first, make sure you stay hydrated as we get into these harder days. Make sure you sketch your legs real good before walk/running. Mostly, ease your way into running, very slow paces at first and then develop the correct method for breathing. This takes time so don't be in a rush. You're in the right place for support.

Late post... I ran 4 miles the other day and broke my 5k record HURT!!! I don't know what muscle I pulled before I ran the 4 miles. All I know is I ran my regular 3 miles and sometime in between I felt a little discomfort in my groin area. So now im walking if a mild limp and it stiffens whenever I don't walk around. So I'll be taking time off to let my body heal...

The groin is no joke, make sure you rest it.  But don't get discouraged - your body is learning how to deal with your volume of movements.  It's almost impossible to avoid all injuries while you build endurance.  About a month ago, I was having trouble over 8 miles with my IT Band, but with a roller, and hydration, stretching, and working body weight squats into my routine, it stopped being a problem.

I'm starting a new half training today, but I'm going to see if I can do it on my own, without a rigid program.  After doing two of them, I think I have an idea of the rhythm of the distances.  I'm also attempting to sign up for two half marathons on two consecutive weekends in October (if I get into the one that opens registration on Wednesday).

We'll see how this goes.

Havent ran in a long time (still) cause im trying to put on mass. Good job though fams.

Groun injuries are no joke, had one playing ball a few years back and it really limits you. Def rest it and dont hesistate to go to a doctor if anything. Mine took over a year to fully heal.
