Well it's only two more days left in the 2000s and I know there's still a national championship game to be played but just for fun why don't usavid college football junkies list our best of the decade awards. Now pending what happens in Pasadena on the 7th, some of these may be subject to change butfor the most part everything that is has been settled. Here are the categories and some of the nominees...feel free to edit as you wish.

Offensive Player of the Decade:

Reggie Bush (RB, USC 2003-2005) 6,541 all purpose yards (10th in D-1 history) 43 TDs; Freshman All-American (2003), Doak Walker & Walter Camp AwardWinner (2005), AP National Player of the Year (2005), All-American (2004, 2005), 2005 Heisman Trophy Winner

Mack Brown (Texas): coaching record in the decade: 110-18 (.836 winning percentage); 2 Big XII conference championships & 1 National Championship (2006)(BCS) pending the game vs. Alabama next week. Since going 9-3 in the year 2000, Texas has ran off 9 straight years of 10+ wins.

Pete Carroll (USC): coaching record in the decade: 96-19 (.835 winning percentage); 7 Pac-10 conference championships & 2 National Championships (2003,2004) (1 AP/ 1 BCS). 7 straight BCS bowl appearances (6-1) record.

Urban Meyer (Bowling Green, Utah, Florida): coaching record in the decade: 95-18 (.841 winning percentage) highest among active coaches with minimum 5 yearsexperience at a four year university; 1 Mountain West conference championship (Utah), 2 SEC Championships (Florida) & 2 National Championships (2006, 2008)(Florida). Led Utah to undefeated season in 2004 allowing them to become the 1st team from outside a BCS conference to be invited to BCS bowl game and theydefeated Pittsburgh in the Fiesta Bowl.
