Sean Taylor Tribute Song - Raheem DeVaughn, Big G, MsKim, Wale

Musical Tribute to Sean Taylor

What began as a six-foot condolence card to the Washington ******** last year from WKYS-FM radio personality EZ Street after the murder of safety Sean Taylorhas exploded into an all-star tribute this year: a memorial song produced by Jamil "Face" Johnson and featuring local R&B and hip-hop starsRaheem DeVaughn, Wale, Ms. Kim (of Rare Essence) and Anwan "Big G" Glover (of "The Wire" and the Backyard Band). There's also a musicvideo.

At 2:21 p.m. today, (a nod to Taylor's No. 21 jersey) the drive-time DJ on 93.9 FM will debut an original song recorded over the past week called"Every Given Sunday." The song, EZ Street said yesterday, honors Taylor's legacy and projects an anti-violence message.

"It's not a sad song," EZ said. "[Face] got the original fight song from the ******** and chopped up the horns."

The music video features ******** offensive lineman Chris Samuels, who co-hosts a Tuesday radio show with EZ on WKYS, and his longtime girlfriend Monique"Hazel" Cox, who raps on the tribute.

The video will go up on the WKYS Web site tomorrow, EZ Street said, and on his blog at http://www.ezstreetshow.comhttp://www.ezstreetshow.comhttp://www.ezstreetshow.com. It's unclear if the song will be broadcast atFedEx Field on Sunday, when the team plays the Giants and inducts Taylor into the ******** Ring of Fame. "We don't know for sure," said Cox."But as soon as we get a copy [Samuels is] going to take it to the park and see what we can do."

Not a ******** fan, but definitely one of the dopest songs I've heard from the area. EVER. Production was crazy. That was a hell of a chop-up right there.

^i have always been a fan of big g (i played guitar with back on 2 occasions back in 00).............g always had a weird type of flow, but imo he has comealong way. (not that he is even average now, but i am a fan)

his first line was it for me...............

wale can flow all he wants, but i am a hater so call it what you want..................not a fan

I actually didnt think the track as a composition was that great. I'm not saying it's whack. But, it's just aigh tto me. Maybe it was the beat. Notsure. I did like Raheem's contribution to the track, and Wale's verse.
