FWIW, I read this a.m. that Jones and Romero will probably be optioned. Jones' average dropped about 50 points in the last few weeks, I've never seen someone fall off so hard in that short a time. Romero was always a career AAA player. I like the moves.

“There were people out there who really thought the Mariners are a prime target,” Zduriencik said. “ ‘Hey, they’re in a pennant race for the first time in 10 years. They’re going to give up the farm.’

“There was a little bit written about that. We were not going to do it, and it probably didn’t make a lot of people happy. But I don’t care. If a few guys get ruffled feathers, that’s their fault.”

First off, I'd like to commend Jack Z for the moves he's been pulling. He didn't get the big fish but Franklin for Jackson was unbelievable. He's strengthened some of the teams biggest weaknesses all while keeping our contributors and keeping our top 5 prospects intact. Imagine the damage Bill Bavasi would have done

. I still don't want Jack back next season, though.

Excited to see Jackson-Ackley at the top of the order and Denorfia is a sneaky one for me. Batting .300 vs LHP and in a better lineup than SD, I think he can surprise here down the stretch.

Shaky to start but settled in

Had a scare when he got blasted with a line drive to the leg but stayed in.

Overall good start from being 3 months since his last start

Great throw by Zunino! Don't know if there's a 20-20 club(20 homers/20 throw outs) for catchers, or if it's even special, but Nino is about there.

Kuma pitching well and yet still down 0-1...

EDIT

Tillman, equally sharp, which means game over.

EDIT

Ump really squeezing Kuma there... but 2 great plays by Seags to bail him out.
