So your saying making the playoffs would have taken away those questions?
No, because if the team made the playoffs, the aforementioned players wouldn't be performing so poorly (Kuma, Young, Ackley, etc.)
That's an overall small sample size to gauge what these players will do next season.

and Condor finally making his MVP run

Ackley is the reason the team was in this spot to begin with
Felix has performed arguably the worst
not making the playoffs and getting close will light a bigger flame under Z's *** than making the playoffs would. Not making it will help us out more than making it will

Ackley was certainly the catalyst. Once he finally got going, the M's got serious. Cano and Seager are also very crucial to the success of this team. Other than that, there's not much consitency in the lineup at all.

Hoping Zunino can take the next step and become a 30 HR guy while striking out way less.

What are the scenarios?

We basically have to sweep or, at least, take 2/3 from the Angels, while we need Oak to get swept or lose 2/3?

I think we have to deal with Weaver too?

Yup. Not crazy to me. we win the series. Oakland losses theirs

:lol LoMo

I still am not convinced he's the 2015 1st basemen, but he's hitting the ball much better the past 2 months.

As a Mariner fan of 20+ years that may come in this thread 3-4 times a season I just wanted to chime in. I could not be happier with our season right now. I had said at the start of the season that if we could contend for a wildcard spot I would be happy. It's nice to be able to really watch a game that matters past June with this team. Win or lose, I will enjoy watching this last series. If Felix can come out Sunday and do what he has done all year it would be a great way to cap off this year. Management has proven that they are willing to spend to improve the team so I look forward to the off season. See y'all next spring!

I'm with you DIGITAL, although I'm currently disappointed, I wouldn't dare say this was a disappointing season for the M's.

In fact, I swear all I heard during Spring Training, from a lot of talking heads, was that the M's would be lucky to be .500; even after the signing of Cano.

The baseball season is a marathon, but I can't help but think about that losing streak earlier in the season. This organization isn't as smart as Oakland, and doesn't spend/get enough acquisitions, like Anaheim; to recover from hiccups like that.

Also, the M's just happened to consistently lose a ton of games to teams that really weren't as good (Houston/Rangers) as them.

In conclusion I don't believe the success of this year's club to be like the most recent decent M's club (2009), with vets like Jr, Sweeney, etc., that won 80+ games only to tank the next season.

For the first time in a while, "There's always next year" actually holds value with fans of the Blue and Teal. While it sucks to root for what sucks, that's just how baseball is. When the good occurs it's awesome, and when the suckness makes its annoying usual appearance like Steve Urkel, you just deal with it because the team is like family.

All in all, the M's are a winning team this season and are looking to finish 3rd in the AL West; behind two teams in the division that will both make the post season with legitimate shots at the World Series. I understand if anyone wants to call this season a disappointment, but to call it a failure would be incorrect.

Rodney being Rodney. Team is on life support, but it would be nice to sweep the Angels for a second time this season. This is the first time the M's have taken the season series from the Angels since 2003.
