Zito had a great outing today. Was there any explanation why Sanchez was called up to warm up today? I found that odd since he's a starter.

They have an off day so they're going to skip his start and go straight to Lincecum. I'm just speculating, but I think they want Lincecum to be able tostart against both Arizona and the Dodgers.

They're skipping his start because of the off-day on Monday. They're only skipping one start to keep Lincecum on schedule.
The thing with Zito though, only ONE extra base-hit and no walks! Dude finally earned his money and Pablo should strictly catch Zito.

So I came in here to say this but it was said already. But there havent been any reactions to it.........maybe there might be something to this Zito-Sandovalbattery. Is it possible?? Maybe, just maybe, Pablo back there could help Zito?

I would think Pablo can help Zito. Look at the last eight games Zito pitched last year with Sandoval behind the plate and Zito's numbers improved. So maybewe will see Sandoval as a catcher when Zito pitches every once and a while. I was kind of surprised that Andres Torres got burn today and Scheirholtz had toride the pine again.

When Zito has control and attacks hitters, he is such a different pitcher. When he nibbles and gives a ton of free passes is when he gets in trouble. There isdefinitely something to the Zito/Sandoval battery. The numbers prove it and I hope Bochy sticks with it.

I just talked to my brother about this whole idea. He told me that this idea of Pablo catching every Zito start was discussed at the tail end of springtraining. According to my brother Bengie went ape @$+@. Saying stuff like "Im the everyday catcher!" He told me that he heard it on the radio. Anyoneelse hear anything about this?

sounds like something Benji would do, I remember hearing Krukow and Kuiper talking about seeing him in the clubhouse before a game he had off. one of themjokingly asked, "happy to be resting today?" or something along those lines, and they said he just stonefaced and was like "I hate notplaying" and that was all he said

I wouldn't be surprised if those comments by Bengie were true. I mean, he was pretty talkative when Sabean made a comment on the Catcher position in theupcoming years. Either way, Bochy should try another start with Zito x Sandoval and see how that goes. If Zito is hitting his spots with Sandoval behind theplate, it may be better.

From what I heard, people weren't upset, Byrnes and Tolbert just didn't undertstand why he would do it.

Byrnes is a great interview, he was always on 680 all he time when he was on the A's
