i agree, but i think its because july is real early in the season still. its half way through, but that means he has all of july, august, september to get them back to 1st. and i think hes gonna come back with a vengence to prove its not all cuz of roids

This division is still up in the air, IMO.

If the Giants continue to play the way that they are now, then nothing will happen within the division. They're offense just isn't good enough, but ifthey make a move for a power bat, then it's a different story.

I'm hoping the Giants can land Holliday if they're really shopping.

Get Holliday for a month or two. Give up prospects. Only to have him sign a monster deal elsewhere because that's how Boras does business.

Really, you think that's the way to go?

Bumgarner, Alderson, and Crawford got moved up to Connecticut.

Oh well, at least I got to see them a few times before they were moved.

......new CSN commercial:

(and this is to the best of my memory) "Watch Tim Lincecum and the Giants try to shut down Man.....err......Russell Martin and the Los AngelesDodgers."

I almost spit water out of my mouth when I saw this commercial. Lets beat these chumps!!! There pitching is blah. Lets go!!

It would show the Dodgers that we're serious about trying to win the division. I think going for Holiday now, rather than at the deadlinewould make things a whole lot different.

I would give up some prospects, but come on, how much longer do you want to wait until this team can finally make the playoffs? It's been 6 seasons and theGiants haven't done anything really big to make the fans excited except bring back old veterans (Bonds, Aurillia, Ortiz, etc.) is hoping the fans wouldcome back. The management has become too predictable and is afraid to pull off big moves.

One more thing, Giant are supposedly unloading $35 million after this season.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

Our bullpen is fine.

Fred Lewis has 1 RBI playing a production position on the field. Travis Ishikawa is playing at a power position batting .200.

And one additional bat isn't going to fix it. We're two bats away from making any type of noise offensively. Aaron Rowand was supposed to be amiddle-of-the-lineup presence, but it's clear that if he's not playing in a phone booth, he can't provide that kind of power.

We're really still a couple years away. I'm not so keen on giving up prospects for a rental quite yet.

If the goal is to eventually get to the World Series, you don't do it now. If the goal is to just make the playoffs this year (which I hope it isn't)you go for it by going after a Holliday.

But we've done the latter many times since the World Series season, and it hasn't worked. Not even close.

^I'm pretty sure the guy you quoted is a Dodgers fan, which proved to be correct last night.

And one additional bat isn't going to fix it. We're two bats away from making any type of noise offensively. Aaron Rowand was supposed to be a middle-of-the-lineup presence, but it's clear that if he's not playing in a phone booth, he can't provide that kind of power.

i was talking about the Dodgers

Gotta be kidding me. I thought Affeldt might mess up, but he was pitching well. Then I was fine with him in and Valdez comes in to @@+! it up. If it's notone guy it's another.

huge strikeout in the 8th by wilson.

Zito with ANOTHER good outing

...getting closer to the top.

Zito scared me with that lead off double but man he was hitting the spots today. I would love to know what changed with him. I know he had his workout routinein the offseason but why wasn't he this way from the start? Either way, I couldn't be happier with the way he's playing.

I had to change the thread title.

All day the media acts like Manny being gone is no big deal, but whenever the dodgers take an L they will bring that up.

Giants earning their respect though.
