So, let me get this straight. She is complaining about Asians at UCLA and how they do not have any manners. Did she think about how many Americans and others for that matter, talk on their cell phones while driving? Or in any other situation where it isn't proper to be talking on their phone? "Bringing their entire family from Asia", really? And she's reading political science? Riiiiight. So much irony in that video. I hope she looks at that video and smacks herself for that stupidity. At this point, everybody is rude. Americans don't have room to talk

Officials at UCLA are outraged after a homemade video of a buxom blond girl's racist rant about Asian students went viral over the weekend.

In the nearly three-minute video, the student, identified as wannabe-model Alexandra Wallace, vents about the "hordes of Asian people that UCLA accepts into our school" -- students she trashes as spoiled, rude and unintelligible.

In one searing moment, Wallace mimics an Asian student answering a cell phone in the school's library by saying, "Ohhhhhhhh! Ching chong ling long ting tong! Ohhhhhhh!"

"Hi. In America, we do not talk on our cell phones in the library!" she fumes.

The video first surfaced Friday, the day an earthquake and tsunami rocked Japan, killing an estimated 10,000 people and leaving millions more without food, water or shelter.

A university spokesman told the school's Daily Bruin newspaper the video was "repugnant."

"The comments on there are contrary to the values the university believes in," university spokesman Phil Hampton said.

Wallace - who identifies herself as a "polite, nice American girl that my momma raised me to be" - even suggests that the cell phone chatter among Asian students could be related to the disaster, but she still shows little sympathy.

"I swear, they're going through their whole families just checking on everybody from the tsunami thing," she says before quickly adding that she feels horrible for the victims.

"But if you are going to go call your address book, you might as well go outside," she says, addressing any potential Asian viewers.

The original video was pulled down Friday afternoon, but dozens of copies - along with some spicy pictures of a girl reported to be Wallace posing in a bikini -- appeared on YouTube, blogs and other sites.

By Monday afternoon, hundreds of thousands of viewers had watched the video on YouTube.

A number in the university directory listed under Alexandra Wallace was disconnected as of Sunday night, the Daily Bruin reported.

I am not going to lie and admit that yes I do see asian people talking on their phones at the library but I mean its definitely not limited to just a certain race. We are young adults in college and we see people with bad manners from every nationality and race. I wasn't going to do anything physical but I just made sure she knew that she was living in a city with a large population of Asians and that its one thing to get mad about blocking the car but bringing race into it is just flat out unnecessary. The boyfriend kept apologizing and saying that "all i said was ****s man" which got me even more angered a the fact that he thinks its okay because all he said was ****s. Eventually both ended up apologizing and what not but damn, its amazing how racism will always exist no matter how many years go by. This girl who posted the video is probably done for and she probably won't be able to attend any of her finals this coming week because of the amount of hate that is going around not only the UCLA campus but even here at UCSD.

I'll just say, it's not cool seeing see them allow their kids pee in flowerbeds at theme parks, smoking in non-smoking areas, laying out on the pavement with their shoes off in a public setting etc.

You're supporting her argument by bringing up selected behaviors of people from the other side of the planet? The people she's ranting about are most likely born in the U.S. and are intelligent enough to be accepted by one the top public universities, not the ones in your link. I am appalled by the thoughtless and hurtful comments of a UCLA student posted on YouTube. Like many of you, I recoil when someone invokes the right of free expression to demean other individuals or groups.

This one act certainly does not represent the views of our UCLA community. Our community is built on mutual respect and civility, and we are committed to fostering an environment that values and supports every member of the community. It is most unfortunate that a single clip on the Internet undermines that environment by expressing hurtful and shameful ideas about others in our community. I believe that speech that expresses intolerance toward any group of people on the basis of race or gender, or sexual, religious or cultural identity is indefensible and has no place at UCLA.

Let this incident serve as a reminder of our collective responsibility to confront hateful and ignorant speech and to uphold UCLA’s core values of respect and integrity.

In a darwinian society she would be eaten alive, not only dumb enough to have those thoughts, but to also lack the where-with-all to realize how slanted her opinion was,  and narcissistic enough to put it on youtube.

I think so.  Most people were angered by the way she kept emphasizing how she was American.  Doing that gave off the impression that she didn't consider Asians American.
