Majority of us, especially in "General" have reached that point where it's time to let go.  Some let go completely, some let go gradually, some just let some of it go.  Wherever it may be, the next step is the pain in the #!+ process of selling of parts, pieces or your entire collection.

Dealing with flakes, dealing with scammers, lowballers and just downright irrational request.

There's a couple of threads up, but they are kind of "scatterbrained" and all over the place.

I don't have all the tips or tricks, my plan is to update with feedback from others who have gone through the process and maybe provide some feedback, whether it's to avoid pitfalls (scams), or to succesfully selling shoes while keeping your sanity.

Niketalk Buy & Sell:

Facts: Must be an approved member with additional requirements (300 post/3 months).  Listings must be approved, with current pictures with signature and date.  Listings expire in two weeks.

Pros:  It is completely free.

Cons: NT'ers.

The other sites:

Facts:

Cosignment shops:

Facts: Shops charge anywhere from 12% to 20% commission.  Minimum hassle, they do all the work for you and cut you a check once your shoes are sold.

Pros:  Hassle free, they do the work, you pick up a check.

Cons:  When you see what your shoes sold for, and what you receive,

(However, they do all the work, keep that in mind)

eBay:

Facts: Expect to pay a ton of fees, that almost amount to what you will pay a cosignment shop and you will do all the work.  It exposes your shoes to a huge market, at the same time you are competing with other people selling the same shoe or... gasp... fakes.

Pros: Traffic

Cons: Paypal, deadbeat sellers, eBay fees, eBay rules and regulations.  If you sell in bulk eBay/Paypal will freeze your account.

Craigslist:

Facts: Completely free and access to a local market.  Meet ups can be set up with ease.

Pros: Meet ups, Cash, No Fees

Cons: Lowballers and scum...ok vultures will pester you with ridiculous offers.  Safety, always meet in a public place.  Basically if you don't use common sense on CL you will be in big trouble.

Social Media:

Facts:  Many options: Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, etc.  Completely free.

Pros:

Cons:

There is a ton more to add, so input is appreciated.  Might change the title if this thread gains some traction.
