well no not really..it's understandable when theres alot of other shoes out there that are better than the 8's but ultimately it all comes down to youand whatever youre comfortable in.I personally didnt like them..theyre too high for my tastes and they dont breathe very well.Cushioning is ok but I wouldrather wear one of the more current jordan releases rather than any of the single digit jordans to play ball in.

jordans = basketball shoes plain and simple...rock them for bball or rock them to be a poser haha jk about the poser part. Its obvious they are out dated whencomparing technology, but in the end its still a basketball shoe, so if you can play in them, play in them. As much as you'd like to believe, its reallynot the shoes.
