SoCal Food/Grub Thread

recommend me some spots to check out while in Carlsbad, CA.

Not in Carlsbad, but definitely driving distance to hit up...

Coops West Texas BBQ - Lemon Grove
Hash House A Go-Go - Hillcrest
Pacific Beach Fish House - Pacific Beach
Tacos El Gordo - Chula Vista

If you guys are in the mood for tacos I recommend going to Guisados on Sunset BLVD. Taco's are BOMB over there and their tortillas are made fresh! Went there when I was in LA 2 weeks ago and I wish they had one here in the bay. Go to the sunset location not sure if the other locations make the tortillas fresh.

Anyone who goes report back, I had the Tinga de pollo which has a little spice to it, mole poblano which I wasn't a big fan of and the pescado which was good as well.

I forgot about this place, I think Eddie Huang went there for an episode, looked great.

I'll go by next week and report back.

Spot is bomb. Friend recommended it and it hit the spot. I had 4 regular sized tacos and 5 of the mini ones.

Visited guisados, best tacos ever! so good. ordered a steak pecado, chorizo, tinga (chicken) and another chicken.

I'll have to try the horchata next time too.

Also if you like coffee, then blacktop in the arts district is great. Pie hole is a block north.

My dude :smokin Glad you liked them. Did you go to the one on sunset? The fresh hand made tortillas really do make a difference.

Also, I was on the west side on saturday, so I tried Bay Cities Italian & Deli, really great sandwich, I got the godmother, top notch ingredients. some say it's an authentic east coast sandwich, but I don't know anything about east coast sandwiches
