had it for about four years now and it's still like newand i download all types of stuff on it

I bought my Vaio two years ago. It's heavy, loud, and slow. Well maybe too slow because of all the porn. oh well.

I have a desktop and its pretty solid. Had it for about 4 years and I have never had it any type of problem, no repairs no nothing.

Vaio = GOAT

I have a pcv-rs710gx Desktop. Don't know alot about it, I didn't buy it I stole it from my dad. 3.0 ghz isnt bad but only 512 mb ram

I plan on updating the ram, audio and video cards to make it compatible with what I need to use it for.

Looks like it has some decent software on it, but I haven't used it because I have my own stuff I use.

Haven't really payed attention to how loud it is, but if it's too loud I'll be replacing the fan. 200 Gb HD is decent.

It's pretty reliable, but the 512 ram is killing me and is very apparent.

Don't get a Vaio, horrible quality...very cheap parts, break easily, faulty screen, and harddrive problems are just a few of VAIO's many problems.

i was thinking of getting a Sony Vaio too after i get a job kus thats when my money will be right

i always wanted a laptop, ill be looking forward to one of these

I wouldnt say goat.. but a laptop's performance depends 70% on the user...
I have a VAIO, its not bad. I think I coulda gotten a better laptop for the same price or lower if I waited a bit though. but for 500$ i'd say thats adecent deal (even though the vid card sux)

i got mine for 500 bucks too
brand new with a 2 year warranty
its pretty fast
plus it depends on what you use it for

just need for burning cd's, itunes, and internet. and watchin "MOVIES"

and oh yea, d'ling muzik

For $500, why not. But if you were paying full price, I'd say pass. I'm not a computer guru, but they just seem way overpriced for what they offer.

just about any laptop will do for what you're using it for, try to find one with 4gb ram or get one that is 2gb ram and install the other ram yourselfand save some $$$
