Jamie Foxx has been a favorite of mine for 15 years ...I'm not angry he's offered roles, but I am angry that Marvel doesn't want to invest in Luke Cage or The Black Panther, Cloak and Dagger or Brother Voodoo.

Imagine, Kevin Hart, 2 Chainz, or some **** in a Luke Cage movie? It would be off the hook. But instead they give these public sympathy roles to blacks so we don't feel left out.

Dare Devil is one of my Top 5 Marvel characters and Ben did an excellent job....but a bullied white guy who runs New York would have been far more impressive and intimidating than Michael Clarke Duncan's affirmative action role.

Idris could have had a Luke Cage cameo in Thor or The Avengers just to test the waters... if would've been received positively I'm sure.

I just hate these almost offensive sympathy roles because they're scared blacks won't  support the movie or Al Sharpton is gonna show up on set.

Both are being done. Luke and Danny might appear in the SHIELD show first but I know they want to do a Luke Cage and BP movie

I get what you are saying but I don't think idris,Samuel,Terrence Howard/chidle,Jaime,halle, are given these roles as "sympathy"
Now if you say the green mile, bagger vance( the magical negro roles) are way more offensive and insulting to black people's intellegience
Electro was a scientist my dude
At the end of the day if we want to be represented then our black actors should make these movies and as black people we should support those movies
But this is Spider-Man, it's not that serious
I am more angry when my people get the opportunities and people instantly bring out fake rage once again like when Donald glover was being consider to be spider man or the little girl that was in the hungar games and all the prejudice stuff that was said
New directions should be embraced as long as the story is good and the actors are top notch and the director actually stays true to source material and Jaime instantly is going to make all the other actors bring there "a"game
Edit: movies that were just horrible with new directions
Mario bros.
Every resident evil
Last air bender ( talk about racist)
I'll think of more

I wasn't happy about a spiderman reboot, but now I don't care since this movie looks awesome.
I still have not seen this movie.

My friend spoiled the movie for me.

He basically told me that it sucked.

This true?

Cosign.
This.
Doesnt suck but worth at least one viewing.

I've had the blu-ray since it came out and I finally decided to watch it tonight and I loved it even more this time then when I saw it in theaters, and I remember leaving it satisfied. Thinking back at the Tobey trilogy, I don't think I ever remember his Spidey moving this good and can't wait to see what kind of action scenes the next one will have.

RFX, what's up with a title change or new thread?

Yeah, I mean, this thread is only 17 pages long :lol I guess this movie can be considered slept on compared to the other CB flicks.

people must not like spiderman.

it wasn't the dark knight we need a director god to turn spidey into that

but it had everything I wanted from spiderman.

they gave him real character. he tells jokes, he has that animated series swag now. he might be peter parker but when he puts on the mask it's a whole nother story.

I think a lot got turned off by a reboot so quickly since SM1 was only about 10 years ago. Nut yah I just switched up the title to keep the thread going and just update when new info comes out.

Really loving the bigger eyes of the new costume. It's also nice to go back to the more classic look with the waist break and lighter colors.

that's what I'm saying. I guess part of the problem was people still have Tobey fresh in their memories and I remember how much people cried about the suit so I guess that turned off a lot of people right away, but I look at this first ASM movie as a prologue and can easily see this one going at least four films. A movie-verse Sinister Six assembling would be a dream come true for me and this first one is a nice start of a puzzle.

But I do have to be honest and be cautious about how they'd ever fit 6 villains in one film, maybe make it a 2 parter? I know they've been making every CB movie a stand alone film and while some sequels do get done with justice, an actual 2 part movie arc would be pretty cool.

Put that in a spoiler, dude. That gives away A LOT and not everyone who goes in here has read that comic.

With that said, I'm excited they're really going to pull the trigger on that event. :D
