Cranston for everything :lol

I don't really know which arc they could choose that'd work best. They could be simple and just have them forming for the first time to take down Spidey but really every iterations aim is to take down Spidey :lol but given not all of them haven't been beaten by him solo there can be a bigger plot. I'm sure Harry will have a diabolical plan and Doc Ock will lead the team.

More than likely what will happen is that Harry will just continue to use test trials like he did with Rhino, he'll just pay people, or the film will start off with a time jump since this film and have Spidey already defeating them. If they do the time jump, they could just have Ock easily break them out of Ravencroft.

Guess ASM2 didn't do as bad as people though! DOFP only open at 90 million (3 day) and Godzilla dropped 66% (31 million second week) of course both films will have help being it's a 4 day weekend. Also keep in mind, ASM2 came out during a busy week in sports. 3 game 7's and Mayweather fight. FYI up to 674 WW.

You can't really blame Godzilla since the next week follow up is DoFP. My guess is if no other big blockbuster superhero film follows it then they'd be number 1 against this week. Even if Malifecent that comes out next week comes out this weekend w/o DoFP, I would safely bet Godzilla would beat it to the number one spot.

Godzilla is already at $300m worldwide too.

And if you're looking at domestic numbers only, Godzilla will easily beat ASM2 numbers.

Meanwhile, in its second weekend, Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla is expected to drop over 60% … maybe 63% … that hurts. However, the monster will have made about $160M domestically in two weeks time compared to Sony/Marvel’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which will have made around $187M in four weeks.

You guys are also forgetting that a month ago Godzilla was expected to open for $60m and opened at $93m.

May tentpole Godzilla came on tracking Thursday with impressive strength and should stomp past $60 million in its North American debut. More bullish box-office observers believe it could clear $70 million.

How is Godzilla faring internationally to Spiderman at this point? Curious.

I think Maleficent is in its own race and will probably stay leggy compared to Spiderman and Godzilla, regardless if it goes number one next weekend or not - just because they're competing for different audiences.

I don't know, Snow Whit & the Huntsman didn't exactly break box office numbers and that's with the Twilight mouth-breather chick and Thor. It only grossed $155m domestically. Maleficent has Jolie and it's PG so it could be a different story but it isn't like a animation like How to Train Your Dragons 2. Just not sure how well it'll be received, it's currently tracking at $60m opening but great word of mouth from DoFP will likely beat it to the #1 spot again next week. Those who actually went out of town this long holiday weekend will likely try and catch DoFP next week. We'll see.

ASM2 is at $489m overseas right now at the 4 week mark while Godzilla is at $166m overseas in it's second week. Once it is said and done I don't think Godzilla will beat Spidey though, Spidey is just a much bigger franchise but the domestic numbers is a bit surprising for both.

LOL.

Not laughing at your reasoning, just laughing at how you described them - especially at the mouth breather part.

I think that movie was just bad. I watched it and I didn't like it. If Malificent is just as bad then yea, I don't see it having legs. But provided it's actually good then I don't see it being affected by Godzilla and Spiderman. I could be wrong, but it looks like it's going to be a good movie.

Not saying Maleficent is going to break any records either, but it should pull whatever a good movie in that genre should pull.

I think marketing on it has been bad or maybe I just don't go to Disney or children channels but I haven't seen it advertised much, all trailers I've seen have been online.

But yeah, it'll get kids tickets as parents wants to silence them for an hour or two this hot summer days but I think Godzilla would have beaten it though even in it's second week. DoFP just really took a lot of tickets away from Godzilla hence the big drop. Had Rio2 been it's competeition the following week like Cap2 did then Godzilla likely wouldn't have dropped 60% in it's second week.

This is also further proof why Cap3 and BvS will not stick to going face to face on the same day, it'll just take too much away from each others box office.

Agreed. But if it did - honestly, I'd watch both on the same weekend.

Master Zik Master Zik ASM2 is still a masterpiece :lol

DoFP just presented a more well thought out story that was interpreted on screen. One thing that I still can't get over about ASM2 is how vibrant and colorful certain scenes looked. It was like a real life comic, but I digress.

As far as Sin 6 I would like for spiderman to be the antagonist. He could be like an authority figure like a cop thwarting their plans all the time but give the villains reasons as to why they are committing crimes like trying to get enough money to pay for a dying family members treatment or a villain feeling like society has gave up on them and crime is the only option. All they have to do is make the villains sympathetic and give them a lot of heart and make Spiderman a boyscout crime fighter and viola....the villains get cheered for. Garfield doesn't even have to take off his mask.

....and I believe I mentioned the idea of Cranston as Doc Ock weeks back :Nthat

Oh yeah I'd watch both on the same weekend but BvS gets the first viewing for me but that's no secret around here. :lol

Saving the best for last. I approve. :p

He just looked more vicious. People fell in love with the design going back to fans loving black suit Spidey. Plus this was a time ppl started riding hard for anti-heroes and then Venom became the Lethal Protector (which wasn't good but followed a trend).

All in all he's iconic for being a Spidey villain and his look.

Could be more but Eddie Brock as a rival dried up quick and every other host has been lame or just okay until they made dude a good guy with Flash.

info/cliff notes on the caucasian Venom?

Eddie Brock only gets that label cuz of nostaligia.

Read the comics and it simply doesn't work anymore. He been got fired, he's been outed as Venom, he already made peace with Peter and Spidey on different occasions, there's nothing left for Brock. Best thing they had going with in a long while was when they gave him cancer and then made him Anti-Venom. Ended it too soon and he's back to being lame with no purpose.

MarvelSux MarvelSux :lol Well most would just say white but anyway the longer you're bonded to the symbiote the weaker you'll be when you're separated from it (unless you have super powers apparently). It's like serious withdrawal. Brock had been separated for a long time. The Venom symbiote was having multiple hosts and Brock ended up getting cancer. Then before he died somehow symbiote cells left in his body formed like super antibodies and his body produced like an anti-symbiote. It cured his cancer by purging his body of the toxins and then it made that cool suit. He was still pretty crazy so he went on the mission to wipe out all of the symbiotes and evil in general. He had most of the same abilities of the symbiote with the added one of being able to kill them and purge superheroes of their powers (he almost made Spidey powerless). Then the Spider-Island event happened and he used all of his powers to cure the ppl in the city and Brock lost his powers and was a nobody again until he showed up in the Agent Venom series.

Venom has always been my favorite spidey villain. I wanted him in the movies since the first spider man movie. I remember having heated lunch debates in high school in favor of getting Venom in the second movie. Was happy when I heard he was getting in the 3rd movie, but then SM3 happened lol..

Maximum carnage was awesome too.. although I thought it felt the comic was going overboard by then.

idk why they dont ever put kingpin in the spider man movies,im not heavy into the comics but from what i remember as a kid he was like the main spidey villain and would hire all the other villians to get spidey, felt like they should of introduced him in the movie especially the second one,i could be wrong but thats what i remember
