Depends what kind. The prepackaged stuff is pretty bad. The higher end Boar's Head and the like is fine.

Prepackaged or not, Deli cuts are a no no. I used to tear down some deli cuts back in the day. WaWa I agree, it is disgusting now.

I agree with you that cold cuts are a no-no in general.  But while I was cutting I would get the meanest hunger pains at night...so I would crack open some cold cuts packaging  (Smoked ham and Turkey) and get one or two.  Low calorie count, no carbs...only thing that is bad with them is the sodium to be honest.

If you could put on 5lbs of muscle per week, wouldn't everyone be yoked?  Weight training is more effective, but cardio helps because you are working uphill at that point.  At the end of the day though, diet is priority.

How much sugar is too much sugar to consume? I usually go days where I don't really consume any sweets, but some weeks I might eat sweets maybe 3 days. When I get a sweet tooth, I get a sweet TOOTH. My father and Grandmother have diabetes, I don't want to get there even though I might be more prone due to familiy history.

5lbs of muscle won't come that quick at all. And the amount burned is roughly about an extra 250 calories a day max for 5lbs of muscle putting you around 1750. Like Mark said, cardio is still gonna need to be a priority for weight loss. Low-Moderate intensity cardio after lifting is my preference with times ranging from 20-40 minutes.

Had to do an anaerobic treadmill test the other day.

6 mph and 20% grade.

I thought my lungs were on fire.
