tax filing..help!

so its my first time doing this and i have no clue what to do. all i know is that you take your W2 forms to some place like H&R Block but i heard thatthey don't give you alot and it's better to go to a mom and pop place any replies are appreciated thanks a grip

You can go to places that do it for free. Usually they are done at colleges or universities. I can't remember the name of the program that it is doneunder. If I find the name I'll post it. What city do you stay in? Btw, I haven't payed anyone to do my taxes in about 15 yrs. I usually do them myselfon h&r blocks site for free. I believe that there is a government site that gives you websites where you can do an e-file for free.

Found the name of the program and the site to locate a nearby location. The program is called Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and you can do a searchon this site.
