the leather is not the same hard plasticky material used on GR forces nowadays nor is it super soft and buttery. it's somewhere in-between. i haven't worn my pair yet so i'm not sure how bad/good they will hold up.

i have to disagree stunt man on the leather not being buttery.my red/white/blue joints(the last run before the Holiday 2010 change) are up to par whit several pairs of older grips and different brands that still use real leather i have,nice good soft leather.was also impressed on the patient leather(blue/yellow/red) is actually leather with a thin clear coating over it and not the crap that was on a lot of af1's from 04-07. but to 8tothe24 that was one of my main concerns was the leather great!! s**** at $225 a pop(at the time) it had better be.once i had the swatches in my hand it was a go.hey stunt man how sad is it that what nike calls premium/supreme was once regular old good quality kicks!! just my 2 Penny's
