How did the 2000's differ from the later retros exactly?
2000's had Real Leather that was very thick, and Real Suede. Not to mention you can feel the responsiveness of the air in the heel and the 2000's didnot have banana syndrome. Its pretty bad and evident on the 2008's. Here are some comparison pics I took of the 2008 and 2000 Chlorophyll 1's. Imsure you can see the differences and know which is which.

The 2008 has banana syndrome really bad. The 2000 was able to stay on its side, but the 08 tilted to the right.

hype is a funny thing.. IMO, for all the wrong reasons right about now.. Mediocre quality on just about everything. but at this point the well is so dry, itsacceptable. 2004 zoom trainers with some of the best quality get left for the scrapers to pick up multiples for cheap and for nike to consider their firstrebirth shoe as never even EXISTING.. thats pretty bad.. A shoe that should be acclaimed for generations; no hype. but a shoe hyped by nike with lies is aseemingly success, with half the integrity and quality of the 04 zt1.
It's really at a cross roads.. You don't buy up the new beet sc highs, "raiders", or team orange auburns because of the soon to be knowncrappy quality materials and nike will take that as the c/ws not being popular and move onto other colors like they have for the past 10 years. They may neverget the hint that its all about quality and combined c/ws going for the total package. That's very much apparent in El Bro's great comparison. Richsuede you can brush. Soft leathers that age very well. Then theres the 2008s which are just there. A shell of its former self.. Btw, the legacy pack trainersare mirror 99.99% duplicates based off the 2008 and 2002 mold. Nike has now limited released this c/w and model three times. It's not that the molds arelost after 2002. they reappeared two more times. They are playing with us.
What are your thoughts bknowbles? I feel I have to buy to show that I want these great colorways but at the same time, the quality is unacceptable. Its almostto a point where I want to escape and just live with what I have and stop supporting NIKE in any fashion.

-Flex points in and around the swoosh is very strange with this shiny leather upper. it pops and crinks and wrinkles. I don't like it one bit.

-more color issues. it just looks tacky. for this alltime great pack to show this lack of quality is appaling to me. $400 dollars for this pack??? WHY
2002 vs 2009- essentially identical except for the tongue tag. color balance goes to 2002.

In the first corner, you're highly hyped athlete driven shoe pack.. Purely all hype. Michael Olowakandi status...
-Weighing 14.25 ounces, the new trainer is one of the lightest shoes out there, even among running shoes.. No air in the forefoot and flimsy syn. upper canattribute to that.
-2009 AT1 retro weighs 16 oz.
In your other corner, the little engine that could.
A fantasy pack ofsorts. it features the best of both worlds..

yeah wally i feel you on that one i think if they are going to lower the quality they need to lower the price tag. as nike knows people wanted og cwretro's for a long time and the older crowd loves auburns its ashame that we will get stuck with the crappy quality. if you buy it wont be the same and ifyou pass up who knows what they will look like when they re-re-retro so either way you lose and dont get me started on raiders smh...

lol yeah the sneakrfarher was talking about doing a blog on bo's for a while and he had all of us take pics of our collection. he was trying to get alot ofus to send pics but only a few responded back to him. hope all of you trainer fans enjoy it.

yeah snkraddicts had my permission. Good to see it finally come together in a concentrated blog entry.. That's just four peoples stuff?? Honestly? I'mreally proud of that effort. It almost seems like more than 4 shared stuff. Very solid stuff being shown there. It's a respectable showing. Considering Iknow what and who is still out there, that post couldve been 5 times as long. But it definetly legitimizes Bo jackson/trainer fans still being out there. Thepoint is made.
SelectaClutchStar, I actually went online and searched for another pair of zoom tennis trainers after selling that legacy pack. I was just too upset. @ $30-50bucks, they are of the same quality as the new trainers, but have zoom air in the forefoot. I'll preach about that until I die.
So why not buy a comparable product and save you some bucks. hype, popularity? look at it from a shoe pov only. is it worth the money? I talked to sinnerpabout this just recently. Every single "top tier" new nike training shoe features "free phylon" in the forefoot. Only 4 models did not, theedge tr essential, the edge tr 09, the generate MSL, and the zoom commence xt.. Everything else had a a shox/foam combo or air/foam combo and retailed formore. Those listed above were almost $30-50 dollars cheaper than the shoes that featured "better technologies". This is where you have to questionwhat is "cross training" defined for nike. What is a better technology to them? Are they being cheap and saying free is better or do they believe anon air forefoot is ideal for training. it sure as hell isnt for basketball or other sports that NEED that forefoot air. Every one of the high priced runnersare lowcut with a focus on the heel support.. zoom air spoils the hell out of you and the older 08 tennis trainers had just that. at $80 dollars retail, it wasmore than a steal although materials on the upper are mediocre staying in tune with the new 09 TR1s.. $90 dollars= hype, same quality materials. now at $30-50,same thing, no hype. I know where my dollars are going.
just for kicks, bknowbles, you should post up the med ball original up against the retro pair that you have. I know its off, but how much. Nike gets too muchcredit these days when its nothing but "close enough".
