yea, recently there have been numerous demonstrations of dissent against the govt. The police state strikes back to keep everyone in check scenario would be my guess as well. Funny how as soon as something happens everyone automatically thinks that some renegade Muslimsdid it

Although at the end of the day, this in itself could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Another factor to consider is that the Russian President was just in the middle east and openly declared his support for a Palestinian state.
