Michael Jeffrey Jordan:

(I know he will probably never see this)

Michael I cannot put into words what you have done for me as a fan, and for basketball as a legend. You broke down so many walls being a leader and a role model for fans and players alike. By being something special with great skill and determination, you have become the best player in the game of basketball. Your achievements rise above all, and no one will ever be able to touch your legacy as the world's greatest player. You have shown me that through hard work you can achieve anything, and no one can stop you from doing what you love. What is Love? Playing for 15 years and not listening to any of your critics because you know that you play for the love of the game, and nothing else. By building a company with your products that everyone around the world buys. The Air Jordan is something that everyone has or at least wants to have and to have something like that be in such a high demand is something that you should be proud of. Michael you have transcended in a sport full of cocky high school players and show boaters, because you understand that to win you have to concentrate, understand the game, and realize that if you want to take over and win, you have to have confidence. MJ you are a god in a basketball uniform and I would like to say thank you from myself, and all of the fans around the world. You are my hero, and I am glad to have been around to see the best basketball player in the world. THANK YOU.

MICHAEL JORDAN - OG Fan Since 1984...
I could have died for a basketball game...I played that game on heart and determination and nothing else...I didn't have any food, any energy, any sleep, or anything else. I don't even remember a lot about that game. I have never felt as aweful physically as I did in that game...

this post is one of the greatest i've seen. i was reading some of this stuff and it put goosebumps on my back reading this. this is really great, it gets me at the heart. when i was born, my family was already a bulls/jordan fan, and we were on welfare after a while and the one thing that brought us all together was jordan himself. the schedules for the games on WGN were posted in the house and the whole family gathered together to watch the greatest play the game. it was entertainment that we could afford. we would go to the outlets so i could get jordans and my mom would always do her best so that she could get me what i wanted. i was everything she had and she would do whatever she could do so that i could have jordans on my feet. ever since i was born, when i learned to say, "when does jordan play again", i would ask it all the time. on nov. 5, 2002 when i was able to see him play, i was with my mom and my brother, the people who were there from the start. i had goosebumps on my back nearly the whole game. when jordan walked into the target center, i about cried and remembered what i had and what i have now. now that my family is financially stable and we are able to see him in person. i had to hold myself back from crying, because my lifetime idol was right in front of me and i wish i coulda just ran out there and gave him a huge bear hug. he brought our family together by doing what he loves and he doesnt even know me. i feel like i know him personally and he has done so much for me. whenever i struggle in something, i think of how jordan would have done something like that and the words he would use. he has such inspirational words. my life has been modeled around him since he was playing for 2 years before i was born. now that he is retiring, i just cant believe it. i wont be able to see him as much anymore. during the all star game, i stood up in my basement, in tears, clapping for him. that's just how weird it is. i cant believe he's leaving. J, i just wanted to say thanks for everything you have done for me and my family. you are one of the greatest things that has happened to me, and the game. you're the greatest there ever was and ever will be.

thnx mike for all the great memories. words cant even describe what u've meant to me. behind the basketball, the shoes, the clothes....behind all that, anybody would admire the human being u are. if any parent wants their kids to have a great role model/hero....it woudl be MJ cause they would want them to be 1/2 as good of a person as you, not only in the game of basketball, but in the game of life...

i just had a buddy that wanted to add something to this post and he doesnt have an account yet, so i'm doin' a favor for him...here's his input...

"Throughout my life I have been a Michael Jordan fan. I remember the commercials, the shoes, the first championship, the comeback, June 14th 1998, and the third coming. Most of all, I'll remember his ability to inspire so many people, and his will to win. He truely loved the game of basketball. Thanks Mike! We'll all miss you!

I still remember the first time I saw one of his home video in 1989. Since I lived outside of the US, I never saw anyone dunk a basketball. So seeing him take off from the free throw line and doing all these moves in the air was an amazing sight for me.

I still remember the first time I saw one of his games on TV. It was game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals against Portland. I recognized the ball-headed guy wearing #23 from one of the two teams, and I remembered #23 ever since.

It has been 14 years. It is truly a sad moment now saying good-bye to MJ, since the last 2 retirements we didn't know if he was leaving for sure, but now we know for sure that he ain't coming back. It's like saying good bye to a long time friend, and I won't get to see him play ever again. Thanks MJ for everything. You've been truly an inspiration to me on basketball, school, and life. It's incredible how he can touch the live of someone he has never met.

Thanks for coming back again. I was lucky enough to see you play live for the first and last time. It was an amazing experience and I'll never forget it.

'Cuz I make the impossible look easy

Thank you Mike, not only for showing us the true meaning of GREATNESS, but for showing us how to be better people, for showing us that things dont come easy, thank you for failing so meany times in order to succeed, showing us the true value of hard work and perseverance

mike, youre the GOAT. theres no doubt that youve meant more to basketball than any player at any sport. youre the main reason why theres so many crowded basketball courts around the world on a daily basis. your work ethic has inspired me, as well as the millions of other fans, to work hard in everything i do. your competitiveness is unmatched and your desire to be the best will never be duplicated. thanks for taking 2 and a half hours out of my day, 82+ days per year, to make me realize what hard work and determination can accomplish.

My letter to Mike

What Is Love?

Love is understanding that even the greatest can't
go on forever, but also knowing that the memories can.

Love is dedicating a few good words to a man that has given us those great memories.

Love is coming together to share them.

Love is knowing that tonight is a chance for those young and old to experience the magic one more time.

Love is also realizing that without this man, without his great memories and one unforgetable career this culture, this forum this topic would not be.

If it were up to me no one would ever wear the number 23 again because no other man in the history of sports can avoid the fact that Mike made that number what it is to Basketball, to sports and to all of us.

From the bottom of my heart i just want to say
Thank You Mr. Micheal Jeffery Jordan
For your Career
Your words
Your Influence...

To Me You are "Love"
