Please.

Had that trade not been vetoed you'd be begging your girl to make you CP3 cupcakes this Christmas.

PER is overvalued how, exactly?

It's not perfect, but its a pretty good way to judge a players overall effectiveness.

Also, is win shares an overvalued stat, too? Because CP3 is 3rd all time when it comes to WS/48.

I'm gonna go ahead and need a list of properly valued and overvalued stats so I know what I can and cannot use on here from now on.

Dude I'm not a Lakers fan I just like Kobe

Anything that says David Robinson is the 4th rated Basketball player of all time Im calling b****** on. I remember David Robinson and I don't think he was even the 4th best player in the NBA at any time he played

PER to me just overvalues safe stat collectors the same way Quarterback ratings overvalue safe throws

I might take PER more seriously if they tried to make it like QBR were it tries to value at what time in the game stats occurred but even that could get convoluted

Plus most dudes who talk about PER couldn't calcuate PER but yet they swear by it.

I don't need a stat created by John Hollinger to tell me who's a great player, I'll just watch the games

Considering that the only players who have a career PER higher than CP3 are MJ, LeBron, Shaq, Wilt and David Robinson, I'd say he's top 5 pretty easily.
No.

Magic, Zeke, Stockton, Big O, Kidd, Payton, Walt Frazier > CP3
nash, westbrook, cousy.

i do like that people are starting to build cp0 up again as a perfect setup for his eventual round 2 exit

better start thinking of excuses now so you guys have some original ones come playoff time

It is a good judge and a worthwhile number, but it can also be overvalued when you have guys looking up top PERs then jumping to some "top 5" conclusion like

Considering that the only players who have a career PER higher than CP3 are MJ, LeBron, Shaq, Wilt and David Robinson, I'd say he's top 5 pretty easily.

David Robinson was NEVER a top 4 player in the NBA?

LOL.

We're talking about PG's, not overall.

Even if you don't think CP3 is Top 5, there's literally no way he's outside of the Top 10 and considering the other 9 guys on that list would all be retired, I think he's in pretty good company.

Neil Johnston is ranked 6th all time in Win shares per 48 and your point is?

I guess it means he was pretty good, right?

Dude avg 20/11, won a ring and he's in the HOF.

But I guess we have no way of really knowing how good he was because he died in 1978 and we have no way of eye testing him, which is the end all be all, apparently.

When David Robinson played

Jordan
Hakeem
Barkley
Malone
Shaq

Were always better than him

And I'm a Spurs fan too, he was not better than those dudes

Yea, they were ALWAYS better than him.

Yet he somehow still has an MVP, DPOY, led the league in scoring, blocks, rebounds...

I don't even like dude, but let's be serious.

What? You're all over the place. That's your quote naming a shooting guard, a small forward, and three centers. :lol

But yes, no doubt CP3 is a great player and should be up there in whatever/whoever's rankings. I just meant that citing his PER isn't really the end-all, be-all proof. It's an indicator of him belonging somewhere around there, sure.

No I'm not, your reading comprehension just isn't all that great.

Here, I'll help you out: go back and start reading SLOWLY from post #26656 and it should all make sense to you.

bruh these clippers commentators saying cp3 the best ever lmaoo. bruh.

Dat dere comprehension.

Brian Siemen asked Mike Smith if he's ever seen a better PG than CP3.Mike Smith, the homer, said Magic was better but CP3 is the best PG he's seen since he started broadcasting. I think he's been broadcasting for like 10 years.

I hate Mike Smith as much as you guys but the reaching is outrageous on here.

:lol You dont remember how he got that scoring title

Dude played almost the whole game against the horrible Clippers and the Spurs were intentionally fouling to get the ball back quicker :lol

Fraudulent :lol

Then the next year when he won the NBA MVP and got exposed by Hakeem

Dude stayed letting down San Antonio til Tim Duncan came :lol

Now I see, my mistake. It's late, I got thrown off by the quote. :p

You don't gotta be a **** about the reading comprehension though, I'm sure you've misread a thing or two before ;)

Who doesn't remember how he got the scoring title? :lol

Oh no, he got exposed by Hakeem! What big man hasn't?

Dude might be the greatest C of all time, it's not really a big deal.

My point he was never better than Jordan, Hakeem, Barkley, Malone or Shaq at any time of his career

Ewing didn't get exposed by Hakeem

:lol Hakeem might be the greatest center of all time?..Did like Wilt, Bill and Kareem never existed
:lol

Robinson was a really good center but really overvalued by PER

Dude held him to 36% from the field, :lol might wanna go back and re-watch that.

And yea, he's pretty easily in the discussion for GOAT C's.

You named a whopping 3 guys who you think are better, oh no.

goats generally exist in fans minds by the generations/decades they grew up watching.... I mean CP3 as one of the best ever pg's ever??? I don't see it....

I don't play fantasy basketball but MCW must be a fantasy gawd :hat

We've literally done everything possible to tank away this season and the Pistons (who are actually trying to win) still are only a game ahead of us in the standings. What the hell is SVG doing over there?

I don't need to re watch a 20 year NBA Finals to know Ewing didn't get exposed like Robinson did

I named 3 guys who are absolutely better than Hakeem

It's like me saying Kobe might be the greatest shooting guard of all time and then somebody's says Michael Jordan then I say "it's only whopping one dude better than him":lol

...Yeah it's one dude who is absolutely better than him, it's same way those guys are absolutely better than Hakeem and same way those guys I named better were better than Robinson

Anyways I'm out for tonight you can go play bored games semantics with someone else :lol

So, which is it? He wasn't exposed, or he wasn't exposed like David Robinson? Because now you're just spewing bollocks because you were proved wrong.

Just stop, go to bed, regroup and come back tomorrow when you're fresh.

Those guys are not "absolutely" better than Hakeem.

I also never said he was the GOAT, I said he MIGHT be, as in, he's in the discussion.

If your league is big on FG% and turnovers, then nope.

Wilt, kareem & bill better than hakeem?

:lol based off what?

Are we going by career achievements or just a pure basketball player standpoint

Skill wise theyre not better than hakeem

My starting lineup all time would have Hakeem at the five. Hakeem in terms of overall skillset is the GOAT. Post game was insane, had a mid range jumper, could take any center off the dribble, great rebounder and defender, He was just an athletic, highly skilled center.  He may not have the stats of Wilt or Kareem, but Hakeem would run circles around them guys IMO.
