Now after all this Mavericks talk, watch them blow a game against a Deron Williams-less, and KG-less Nets. :lol

if Harden somehow catches up to Kobe...

There's no way the coaches vote him in on the bench right?? Too many other stud guards out there?

Thibbs huh?

call me when thibs finds a way to keep jimmy butler under 40 minutes a game.

he has some aspects of his coaching to be desired, but he's elite at what he does do wel. If Rose didn't get hurt, I'm not sure there'd be much arguing any of this.

all that said, I'm ok with taking Thibs out of the Pop convo, but I can't put Carlisle in the same convo with Thibs personally. Carlisle does things better, but nah. Thibs is still that guy.

No. Not a chance.

The players I'd pick over Kobe in the West this year:

Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
Damian Lillard
Mike Conley
Monta Ellis
James Harden
Chris Paul
Goran Dragic
Russel Westbrook

By the way, last Mavs related post pre-game...

Dirk Nowitzki is 13 points away from passing Moses Malone for 7th all time. 8o

Won't be sixth for quite a while, as he's 1,500 points away after this milestone. Won't happen this year.

Should I take Mavs -2 1Q? 8o

Rudy Gobert monstery...

1st in opponent field-goal percentage at the rim (among 69 players that defend at least six attempts a game)
1st in block rate
3rd in defensive +/-
7th in rebound rate
19th in PER

The +/- one is especially impressive, considering that the Jazz aren't doing a whole lot of succeeding, and the rest of the top five are tried and true elite defenders on top-notch teams (Tim Duncan, Draymond Green, Tony Allen and Joakim Noah).
