players taking less than their market value is on them. they ain't displaying any more "loyalty" or are any more of a team player than a proven high profile player who wants to get paid. that's some bs thrown down by the ownership to keep the players in check and shame them into asking for less than their valueTell me nothing, it's simple.Kobe OBVIOUSLY deserves every penny he's making....however, when guys like Tim Duncan and Dirk take less than their market value to improve their team roster flexibility, then I just don't know what to tell ya.Kobe's quote on FirstTake is as real as it gets..if you don't respect him, it's because if his off the court court case and his ego. Dude keeps it real though.
"Listen: business is business. I think people get that confused very easily in understanding that players should take substantially leas than their market value in order to win championships."

He's not leaving 35+ mill in the table to help.
They can go over the Cap and help.
He will make the best with what's around him
Michael Jordan disagrees with Dirk & LeBron about shortening the NBA season: "I never thought 82 games was an issue."

Thoughts on that MJ comment....
Absolutely nothing wrong or ScumbagMikeish about it. I'm sure he was just asked what he thought on shortening the season and since Lebron agreed on it, the writer threw out the most controversial title out there
reducing the number of season games by like 25% seems way too much. will they be reducing players' salaries, owners' profits & fans' ticket prices by that much as well? doubt it. they'll find a way to keep the ticket prices rising. fans will get jerked in the end as usual
