Joss Whedon’s The Avengers will be heading to disc this September. And we’ve got details of the release date and extra features here…
Given that the film is dominating the box office all around the world, and given that lots of people are going to see the film lots of times, the DVD and Blu-ray release of The Avengers might not be at the top of many people’s minds right this minute. But when it comes around, it can surely be expected to be one of the biggest sellers of all time.
Turns out, we might only have to wait until September to get our hands on it.
Reports are coming in that Disney is eyeing up the last week of September to roll out the disc release of Joss Whedon’s box office crusher. The US release date has apparently been confirmed as 25th September, and the usual collection of DVD, Blu-ray/DVD combo back and 3D Blu-ray will be released on that date.
Included in the extra features package will be a director’s commentary from Joss Whedon, a gag reel, a Marvel One-Shot short film called Item 47, nine deleted/extended scenes, a Live To Rise music video, as well as featurettes covering Assembling The Ultimate Team and A Visual Journey.
The UK release date hasn’t been announced, but we’d be amazed if Disney didn’t tie it closely to the US release. 24th September would be a decent bet.
