Once you’re out of your teens you’re too old. Also takes a huge toll on your body. Plus, wasn’t she part of that whole sexual assault thing? I’m sure that whole group is done with all of it

Besides, she’s competed in 2 Olympics. Rare to see gymnasts go to 2 much less 3 Olympics.

and US screwed up not making leadoff girl earn her spot in the final.. yea she came 2nd at trials, but her time wasn’t fast enough to be a lock for the finals especially as a first timer

like others have said, you age out quickly
with the talent that the US has, making two olympics is quite the accomplishment
it's a brutal schedule and takes a major toll on the body

i think there was one lady who competed for the soviet still competing last time around. she was in her 40s
had to look her up and found out she was still competing

It was Shawn Johnson in Beijing for me and Aly Raisman in the following Olympics

Also was a fan of that older gymnast from Romania, Catalina Ponor

Any hardcore swimming fans in here? Are finals typically in the morning during the Olympics or World Championships? For T&F its usually heats and rounds in the morning, semis and finals in the evening. I thought it was the same for swimming.

yea they switched up the swimming schedule to cater to Americans schedule since NBC is the largest stakeholder of the olympics
