upon further inspection I do have a hitch on my Honda Pilot

walked by it Saturday morning and noticed it looked like there's a removable cover

just removed this and there it was

only took me about 3 and a half years to realize it

Those pedals cost more than my bike

I read somewhere that they were $800 when they first launched. Slowly but surely, the price has gone down. This is a good option for those who want power metrics without having to switch out your whole crank. Pedals are way easier to switch in between bikes.

Power meter pedals are known to be unreliable.

No, it’s definitely got worse in the last 10 years or so.

Doesn’t have to be but if you want to follow trends it can get silly quickly. Like a lot of things you can get decent equipment for reasonable money or you can spend a fortune.

Yeah there is a sharp increase in price for the newest/best items but there is very little loss of quality by getting something 1-2 generations old or that's second tier. Unless you're racing and/or rich, there's decreasing benefit to spending on the latest and greatest. It's also relatively easy to fix a bike and replace parts. If somebody's new to biking though I could see wanting to start out with a new bike.

I should also add there's nothing wrong with getting the latest and greatest. It's a hobby and most of us probably already spend more on bikes than we "need" to.

searched craigslist for a bike rack for a hitch and I think I'm gonna grab this Kuat Sherpa 2.0 rack this weekend

fits 1.25" receiver so I bought a converter/adapter for about $15 off ebay since mine is 2'

seller said he bought it last spring and used it 5 times, retail $550 and he was asking for $400

I talked him down to $350

Think I’m back on Speedplay pedals again. I got new shoes and switched back to SPD-SL with cleat extenders because I always feel I want my cleats further back. Felt like I was riding someone else’s bike and my knees have been niggly all week. Put my Speedplay pedals back on and the free float feels great. Going to try and get a few miles in tomorrow to check properly though.

I partly gave up because I was having to service them every few weeks - but they’ve just released a new version with sealed bearings which should reduce that. The cleats need a little care but that only takes a few minutes so I can live with that.

I already have a road bike (trek Domane s4) which will still be my main bike. Want a single speed for fun short rides, maybe indoor training and winters

I was pretty new to road bikes when I got mine last year. During winter I stored it in my garage for about 5 months, what else do I have to do aside from inflating the tires? Do I have to do any greasing/oiling or anything like that?

Not really - check the chain and other moving parts but if it was stored dry it shouldn’t need much.

I make sure mine get a good clean and lube if they’re going to be hibernating which helps prevent problems.

Canyon finally avail in Canada. How do you like it?!

It's been pretty good. And the price to performance ratio was pretty awesome.
Nowadays Canyon seems to be going super crazy with integration and proprietary parts and prices have been surging upwards (every bike brand to be fair). They just have been sold to some investment firm so i don't expect their prices to stay as good as couple years ago.

Off first look, that seems to be a mountain bike frameset. I'm not too familiar with that world(maybe MakeNTGreatAgain is) since I mostly ride track bikes.

A quick Google search shows these links, and doing some reading it looks like that frame is from the early-mid 2000's
