The College Basketball Post

A good NBA 4 is usually really good at 1 or 2 things. Whether its rebounding, hustle, mid range, post game....something. Aaron Gordon is average at everything.

No where near a lottery pick.

Aaron Gordon is a ******* great defender, passer and hustle player with ELITE athleticism. That dude will help you win games on any team at any level. And he plays power forward, how much better do you want him to handle the ball? I've seen him make some good moves off the dribble and take guys to the basket. Not his fault that for some reason his coach has him playing at the 3 point line most the game and he's been the fifth scoring option on a team that was #1 in the country for the majority of this year.

I hope a bunch of GM's have the same reservations about him so we can scoop him with the Pelicans pick around 10-13.

I don't even think he's a tweener, such an overused word, it's 2014 he's a 4 dude is 6'9 with a good frame that he should easily be able to put weight on.

Lebryan Nash is a "tweener" Aaron Gordon? nah NBA 4.
Good point. Isn't he closer to 6'8? But the reason I see him as a tweener is that I think he suffers from your "Kevin Durant Disease". Not sure if he's just 100% sold on being a 4 forever.

Wasn't one of the things that attracted him to Zona was Miller allowing him to play the 3?

YES.

I came in to post this. He went to zona because that was promised to him.

I know and I said before the season it was stupid.

He was measured at the hoop sumit at 6-9 in shoes.

someone made an Andrei Kerilinko comparison, I think its pretty apt. 4 guys who could play 3 in a pinch, big time hustle defense, good passers.

I actually dig the AK-47 comparison/projection however it's difficult to see him playing the 3 and not the 4. AK-47 has a lot of polish to his game, something Gordon obviously needs to work towards.

If Gordon gives up his dreams of being a 3, improves his shooting touch and works on simple foul line extended/post moves, he'll be great.

He's a world class athlete/high motor/unselfish but skillset is what enables athleticism to flourish.

Taylor on Texas is real, really good for a freshman.

On another note, has there been another time where a squad had two guys that could potentially go #1 like Wiggins/Embiid?

I know UK had AD and MKG go 1/2 but MKG was never considered for that 1st spot.

Ochefu for Nova is developing into a stud. Can do a lot of different things.

And do they EVER call 5 seconds on an inbound anymore? Seems like you can call a timeout at 5 every single time.

Texas tech hitting Tough shots.

Bill Self's love of Perry Ellis is the reason Kansas wan't win the national championship.

he didn't have that polish at 18, you gotta project.
Obviously, hence why I said Gordon can certainly work towards the polish that AK peaked out at. When we compare prospects to pros, we are projecting, not saying that they are a direct comparison at the moment. Like I said though, I do like the comparison even though it's difficult to see Gordon as a 3.
