The College Basketball Post

I'm not lovin' that last look Coby White got. Pulling away, fading away for the game-winning trey. Cam's three before R.J. missed two FT was much better. Clean look, in and out.

That was straight bully ball down the stretch by Zion, notably on the go-ahead basket. Nassir Little was playing defense about as good as Roy could expect without fouling. Williamson outmuscled Little and with Coby nearby to get the offensive board and ensuing putback.

Really looking forward to this rubber match between UK and the Vols. Coach Cal's boys popped Barnes's squad in the mouth in Lexington. Physical from the jump. They had Grant Williams struggling and uncomfortable at Rupp. But Tennessee avenged that L in a big way on their home floor two weeks later.

Call it contrarian, I don't have the Zags on my 1 line. What's their best W, a two-point victory over a Duke squad that starts four freshmen who played all of five games together? Gonzaga's two other litmus tests resulted in Ls at the hands of the Vols and Tar Heels back to back. Losing to Saint Mary's in the WCC title game is obviously bad optics. Depending on how the bracket falls, I may not have the Zags going past the Sweet 16.

If Sparty wins the B10 tournament like I expect, how could the committee deny Izzo's boys a #1 seed? Already split the regular season conference title with Purdue. Presuming Michigan State faces UM in the title game, and emerge victorious, that would make three wins over Michigan on the season.

Edit:
@second2nonee, obviously we'll both be able to better read once the bracket is solidified but how much we liking Buffalo in this year's tourney? Recall us discussing them last season when the Bulls 'shocked' my UoA. Really like Perkins and Massinburg. At one apiece, curious how they fare in the trilogy vs. Bowling Green.

The thing with the B10 championship game: It's always on Sunday right before the brackets are released. I don't think the game even gets taken into consideration. Another win against Purdue today could have put MSU on the 1 line IMO w/ UVA and Zags losing their conference tourneys. But Purdue lost to Minny and a win against Minny probably won't hold as much weight.

I got

Duke
Gonzaga
Kentucky
UNC

Edit: I meant Wisconsin, not Minny. Michigan plays Minny today.

Looked like when he got the ball there was a hitch. Wish he would have just gone full speed to the tin. Oh well. I think that game proved UNC can beat Duke with Zion. No doubt in my mind they are 2 of the best 3-4 teams in the country right now.

I got Duke, Gonzaga, Tennessee, and UNC the No 1 seeds. Virginia drops down to the 2 seed. Don't trust UK

UVA lost to Duke WITH ZION twice, and then to FSU last night. That's it.

Why would a 6 loss UNC team jump over them?

The P5 has been down this year, but the ACC was still by far the best conference.

Duke: beat UVA twice, throttled Kentucky, more than likely going to win the ACC tournament. Easily a 1

UVA: split the ACC with unc, a 3 loss team, surefire #1

UNC: split the ACC with uva, beat duke twice, beat Gonzaga. Should be a 1

The last seed is up for grabs if the committee is going to value gonzaga’s body of work, or if Kentucky wins the SEC championship.

I think UNC will end up at a 2. Take away the Texas loss and we’d be a 1.

But I believe in 2009 the Big East got three 1 seeds (Pitt, UConn, Louisville). So there is a past example.
