ISU just 30-balled the #1 ranked team in the country and the committee talking about games over 4 months ago. Stupid imo.

Also did UCONN dirty by deeming them #1 overall and then giving them two of the other Final Four teams from last year, plus the Big 12 tourney champ, Big 10 tourney champ, and SEC tourney champ. Brutal.

This is my biggest beef with this bracket. Iowa State wins the Big 12 tourney and gets rewarded by being placed in the same region as UConn? If they were insistent on making fraudulent UNC a #1, they should’ve put #2 ISU in their region.

Why would the committee not factor in a team’s entire body of work during the season? A team with a 300+ ranked non conference SOS has never been awarded with a 1 seed regardless of record since that metrics existence. Would set a precedent that moving forward, teams can schedule a bunch of weaker opponents so long as the rest of the conference is viewed positively by the NET

You can factor in early season games, absolutely, but to rely on those more heavily than the most recent games is silly. The CFP does it (Florida State!) so idk the selection committee here is so weird about it.

Even if ISU doesn’t get the 1 seed, putting them as the 8th overall seed is ludicrous. The ISU team that lost to VT and A&M in November is obviously a very different team than the one that just beat the brakes off of Houston on Saturday.

So the ACC played one of the toughest non-conference schedules?

Yep, that’s why you heard so many coaches and a few pundits talk about how the big 12 ‘manipulated’ the NET by playing a very weak non con to boost their conference games to be majority Q1 matchups

It’s almost as if Big 12 non-conference is going to look bad when they play other power 5 teams that turn out mid, but those other teams get the boost of playing an actually good team…

Why don’t we post the strength of schedule for in-conference games? Especially when those account for 60% of the total season?

Look, I don’t have an issue with UNC as a 1 seed. Committee did us all a disfavor but not lining up ISU as the 2 seed in their bracket and all of this could be put to rest on the court. That’s all I’m really saying here.

Non-con SOS 351 of 362 is almost as bad as it gets

While losing to the only 2 decent teams (9 seed and NIT)

ISU is legit but the whole season matters
