It's a little weird, because Elliot worked in corporate for decades, so that's probably why he didn't expect it. Plus, he heard Roc Nation, but sounds like it was licensed and Elliot was more of a indie contractor.
Might have been a timing issue honestly, because Elliot got or is getting a divorce and just had a kid. But Savon said that he's heard Elliot has been like that. It explains why Elliot was trying to cozy up to Joe to get a pod off. Straight interview pods are a big investment.
