I think you had to focus on him as an old man because it showed the adversity which he had to overcome.

7 pounds is a nice little sweet story, but it doesn't give you that everlasting impact that Benjamin Button does. I mean the ending of 7 pounds was sad and it was a remarkable story, but Benjamin Button leaves you sitting there looking at life differently.
Yea it makes you really think when you leave. I really liked it.
It is a bit of a tear jerker. You just feel bad for him because he knows he has to leave. Then he comes back and he can't remember.
She has to take care of him until he dies in her arms.

Pitt's performance wasn't great, at all. It was "good enough." I'm a Brad Pitt fan... I was hyped about the flick for months. But thiswas no stretch for him. The CGI and the story has far more to do with how good the movie is than the performances of any of the players (save for Taraji P.Henson, who clearly gives the best performance). This generation is so used to instant gratification and hails anything of even the slightest redeeming valueto be spectacular. I somewhat understand it with music given the lack of quality but films haven't deteriorated to point that every GOOD cinematic releaseshould sweep the Oscars.

Yeah thats why he saying the movie is 20x better. You think otherwise?Originally Posted by AirAnt23

I was laughing at it being called a "book." Makes me question whether or not one actually read it. Beyond that though, just because it wasdeveloped into a full length feature film doesn't automatically qualify it as being better. I've stated, and will continue to do so if necessary, thatit was a good flick.
But whatever. I'm guessing once the DVD releases some of the creative license taken will be explained. I'd love to know why they felt it necessary tohave the film set in New Orleans as opposed to Baltimore. If only for the love story... then
And I don't consider portraying an elderly man to be all that difficult.
