~| the DOM. KENNEDY thread |~

Niko is terrible. Last time I saw Dom in concert all of OPM was there and niko was extra lame. Came off mad thirsty with the ratchets also

Youzza flip WE KNOW YOU

Jay 305 had a few sweet verses on the young nation complication his verse on "what's crackin" is appreciated

My joint on that cd is MVP by Jason Madison & Dom

Young Nation from top to bottom is fire. I didnt know what to expect when he first announced it but it exceeded my expectations and then some

Got my flame suit on. This is super late (obviously)...but better late than never?

My boy in LA been a Dom fan for years. He been tryna get me to listen.
Last year when he played My Typa Party i was like :rolleyes

Sounded so basic. He wasnt even rhyming or sayin nothin.
So i didnt really give him a chance.

But recently he's been relentless in trying to get me to give him another shot.
He's explained to me that he aint a lyricist and he just a good vibes rapper.
So i downloaded Yellow Album.

So far i have to say, with expectations lowered and understanding that lyricism aint his forte... im enjoying it. :pimp:
Its basic, but its smooth. And he's pretty funny.
So far 1:25 and We Ball are my favorites.

Wanted to ask you Dom heads, is Westside 2 even worth listening to?

Im trying to step my Dom game up before the new album. He's been hashtagging #GetHomeSafely for months now and i need to understand the hype

If someone wants to explain why thats the album title i would be happy.

He really doesn't have a wack project . . . Download the GetItLive app and search Dom Kennedy . . . they got all his tapes except Westside 2 and I'm sure you can find that

Yellow Album is his least lyrical project

And he said the album is called Get Home Safely because he lost one of his friends last year . . .

His best lyrical projects are Future Street Drug Sounds (my favorite) and From the Westside With Love

Yellow album is definitely the least lyrical but still jams. 25th hour is my favorite. Shows how much he's changed as an artist.

please do yourself a favor and go all the way back and start from 25th hour :rolleyes

In all honesty man, You can ask a number of people which album or mixtape is their favorite. You''ll get a different answer EVERY time.

I say start off on 25th hour and work your way through all of them. I'd give it a week before you're singing along to EVERY song,

Westside 2 is dope. Honestly, his whole discography is solid.

I suggest starting from the beginning and working your way back up to the Yellow album. Everything he has is cool.

Just like others said, he's not a wordplay lyricist, but he dos spit some real ****. Its chill good vibes music, but if you listen closely, he drops some gems.

1:25 has easily become one of my favorite Dom tracks :pimp:
